https://www.google.com/amp/s/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2019/09/08/report-antonio-brown-got-advice-from-social-media-consultants-to-speed-up-release/amp/ Pittsburgh Steelers WR was traded to the Oakland Raiders. He didn't want to go there but it's out of the control of the players in this situation. The last few months around him have been a media circus. Incredible amount of off season drama finalizing in him requesting the team release him via Instagram post. The team releases him and the New England Pats signed him within hours (tampering anyone?). So- it's come out that he hired a social media consulting firm to help him with th…

I figured we’d have some sort of thread for random news stories. Ones that may not be worthy of starting entirely new topics, but still worthy of posting and talking about. I’ll kick it off with this one i just saw.. https://www.newsweek.com/alabama-man-who-spent-36-years-prison-stealing-50-bakery-set-freed-1456905

They come into your cell and hold you down, one of them forces a tube into your nose and down your throat which is extremely painful, then as they hold you down they squeeze a food mixture of some sort into your stomach. Your nose and throat will bleed, remain sore. Bottom line, you are not allowed to turn down meals. They do the same thing with water too. The criminals considered this a "medical necessity" yet it's illegal for any doctor licensed in the U.S. to take part in forced feeding, or any other medical procedure against a sane person's will for that matter. I consider this a form of government sanctioned torture, and pure disrespect to the idea that individuals …

Why are politicians and the majority of Americans so against Illegal Immigrants? They pay taxes and cannot recive the benefits outside of a public school education. I read in a TIME article that they contribute like 15 BILLION dollars to Medicare and the retirement programs which they take out 0 dollars from. Companies like Walmart and Kmart make billions of these same people yet they fail to fight for them. Time for new laws: If you're an upstanding illegal immigrant and you contribute to this nation, its military or local communities you shoudl be elgible to recieve a SS number and apply for citizenship. Many of the same people who oppose illgial immigra…

This is obviously a hot button issue these last few years. Most news outlets reported the crimes and the indictments, curiously though only FOX mentioned 19/22 were here illegally..funny that. Most migrants are peaceful and just want a better life, some are clearly not and have different intentions. This doesn't fit the narrative the MSM is pushing so some details get buried or swept under the rug. Personally I find it disgusting that this type of thing is overlooked so that politicians can artificially inflate their voting blocks with illegals while the MSM works hard at being complicit in the whole scham. What do you guys think? Is this a necess…

https://www.bbc.com/sport/american-football/45407340 I don't follow football at all, like zero, but I'd have to live under a rock under a mountain to not know who this guy is, and why he's constantly in the media. It is my understanding that he's one of the best NFL quarterbacks in the league (though not currently playing), but he was fired for silently protesting by not standing during the national anthem. And as such has become the face of a movement. It is also my understanding that you are either on one side of this story, or the other... and that has me really confused. I'm trying to understand why someone would hate him for sile…

https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/25/americas/mexico-photo-of-father-and-daughter-dead-in-rio-grande/index.html I just saw this photo and realized the impact it had on me. The photo itself is iconic, but it shouldn’t undermine the story behind it. As a parent, I cannot imagine an end to my child’s life like this. What at are your thoughts?

I was opening up my almost brand new Dell 600m laptop, to replace a broken PCMCIA slot riser on the motherboard. As soon as I got the keyboard off, I noticed a small cable running from the keyboard connection underneath a piece of metal protecting the motherboard. I figured "No Big Deal", and continued with the dissasembly. But when I got the metal panels off, I saw a small white heatshink-wrapped package. Being ever-curious, I sliced the heatshrink open. I found a little circuit board inside. Being an EE by trade, this piqued my curiosity considerably. On one side of the board, one Atmel AT45D041A four megabit Flash memory chip. …

Understanding the effect of a tariff is one of those things that's counter intuitive, unless you're somewhat familiar with modern economic theory, and application. On the surface it seems like taxing imported goods helps an importing country, especially one importing more goods from another country than it exports back to them. At first glance, it seems that an import tax would: Raise funds for the importing countries' government, which in turn will allow for the rendering of more services by said government, to the citizens of the country importing those goods. Encourage the sale of more domestically produced goods, as a reaction to the higher p…

Amazon was offered some hefty corporate tax cuts to move part of their corporate headquarters out of Seattle, and into Queens NY. These corporate tax cuts did not include the payroll taxes, for well paid positions moving here. Even offering the corporate tax cut, the move here would have increased tax revenues significantly anyway, not just because of increased commerce, tax revenue increased both net, and the average payroll taxes collected in Queens. One department head, or VP could be pulling the weight, or tax burden of 30 people already living here, not paying much. At least theoretically (Government will probably waste it) the actual funding for governme…

Atrazine was banned in the European Union in 2004 because of its persistent groundwater contamination. In the United States, however, atrazine is one of the most widely used herbicides, with 76 million pounds of it applied each year, in spite of the restriction that used to be imposed. It is probably the most commonly used herbicide in the world, and is used in about 80 countries worldwide. Its endocrine disruptor effects, possible carcinogenic effect, and epidemiological connection to low sperm levels in men has led several researchers to call for banning it in the US. Atrazine is a teratogen, causing demasculinization in male Northern Leopard Frog even at low con…

Anyone been following this ? I’ve been going down the rabbit hole last few nights. TL:DR some Saudi journalist based out of Washington went to an embassy in Turkey last week and never came out. A 15 man Saudi hit squad was dispatched and flew into and out of Istanbul same day he vanished. Rumours are he was dismembered in the embassy and carried off in duffel bags. What do you guys make of it ? I think they got him. Surprised it hasn’t gotten more coverage as the implications of assasinsig someone in an embassy has broad consequences. Then again, ‘Drumpf bad, Russia and Gang rapes’ need the spotlight. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/www…

The federal government could spend close to half its appropriated budget in the final fiscal quarter, which ends Sept. 30 Article completely stolen from here: https://www.nextgov.com/cio-briefing/2018/09/unprecedented-government-spending-spree-picks-speed/151347/ The federal government is primed to spend as much as $300 billion in the final quarter of fiscal 2018 as agencies rush to obligate money appropriated by Congress before Sept. 30 or return it to the Treasury Department. The spending spree is the product of the omnibus budget agreement signed six months late in March coupled with funding increases of $80 billion for defense and $…

Not sure how many of you are following this but Defense Distributed is trying to use technology to do the same thing for guns, that bitcoin did for money. They're testing the limits of current laws that regulate firearms. The law that defines what a gun is, and then opens that object up to regulation basically says a lower receiver, once it's 81% manufactured constitutes a gun. All the other parts of a gun (short of individual state regulations) are pretty much easy to purchase without government interference. Defense Distributed sells 80% completed lower receivers for 5.56 & .308 AR-15's, as well as popular hand guns like the 1911 and composite (Glock)…

this is some bullshit. Michael Avenatti is making a presidential bid using the same fucking tactics trumpito used to get into the white house. The fucking news channels are gassing this asshole up because "RATINGS" I am fully in the camp that the news doesn't really fucking care about what happens to the normal citizens in this country as long as they get a check out of it. Because as much as the news is fighting trump right now....theyre still cashing in on their confrontations with him its just money, money, money

 I posted this in the Ron Paul thread and thought maybe his supporters should have a place to compare notes, and his critics to share too. Out of the field, Kucinich represents my ideals the most, but Obama (as with Paul) represents what I see as a real change... I don't doubt Paul's ability or intelligence, but I don't think your doubts about Obama are well founded either. What I think is funny is that so many of you think a surgeon would be more apt at protecting the constitution than Obama, who is a constitutional lawyer. From his bio: "Obama graduated from Columbia University in 1983. In 1991, Obama graduated from Harvard Law School where he…

I wanna hear yours. And then disprove them. I'll start with one I've yet to disprove, mostly because it's so vague (which clearly, are the best explanations). I was baptized when I was 13 in a non-denominational Christian church. Don't know why, it was popular at the time for my family... it made grandma smile I guess. Anyways they made me take "Members Classes" to engrain myself to the teachings of this church. This is what I got out of it: I asked the preacher, "How do you know there is a God?" He responded with this: "Do you see this watch I have on my arm (nice gold watch)? Would you believe me if I told you that I made this watch myself.…

First to $9 then to $10 over the next couple years I'm no economist I feel like this is gonna do more harm than good Small business will have to pay health care for employees and give em a $2 raise over the next couple years? I see people getting let go and the employees left behind having to pick up the slack Prices in store will most likely go up to make up for the extra $ A guy working a drive thru will be making only a few dollars less that some one in a skilled job. And what about supervisors making around $10 now? I doubt they will be getting raises too Shit seems fucked up

ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN? THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: 1. REALIZE THAT YOU ARE A SINNER AND IN NEED OF A SAVIOR: Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin. 2. BECAUSE OF OUR SINS, W…

"A Texas man is battling a court order that mandates he must pay tens of thousands in child support for a child that he did not biologically father and who he met only once. In 2003, a child support court in Texas ruled that Gabriel Cornejo, 45, had to pay child support to his ex-girlfriend who had recently given birth because she vowed that there was no way he wasn’t the rightful dad. Cornejo, who is currently raising three children of his own and two nephews, claimed that he was not made aware of this and only found out about the child support payments last year when a deputy served him court papers claiming that the state of Texas lists him as having another …

I like stories of discovered, hidden trap doors leading to secret chambers. A presumably true story but it's just funny the way the captions to the photos conflict with some details in the text article. And what is a "half-loaded" gun? A half-loaded gun, a well-built bunker and 1,000 hidden bikes found along Santa Ana River http://www.ocregister.com/2017/11/16/a-half-loaded-gun-an-underground-bunker-and-1000-hidden-bikes-found-at-fountain-valley-homeless-camp/
