Not targeting you specifically with this response but my take is that I find it hilarious that people still hold him up to be a ‘vandal’ and some mythical figure to be defended. The guy could tag a building and the owner would rip the wall out and sell it at auction. I find his little stencils corny and if people want to dig to find out who he is, let them. It’s all a big gag at this point. No one snitched, he snitched on himself by trying to use the illegal aspect of his work to capitalize and make a killing im the arts world by orentending to be something he’s not all the while being heralded as some brilliant street artist, plz. Nothing he does is illegal. If he got caught no one would press charges, it’s all a big scham. If Basquiat had been nailed in the act he’d have gotten a wooden shampoo, with banksy they’d ask for his autograph. When your identity can be revealed by a simple google search I think we’re way passed the point of anyone ‘snitching’. Hiding his identity has nothing to do with trying to stay out of the laws crosshairs and everything to do with maintaining that fake cache of his. I won’t contribute to that.
