Found IRC way too confusing (circa 1996) and figured there had to be an easier way for writers to discuss shit on the internet. Met a kid named @Misk-TheDragonthat was a hax0r and helped put up the first forum. Following that, he would hack into competing sites and redirect their traffic to 12oz for a few days until they could figure out how to switch it back. Used to pay him in free sodas and mail order merch cause he was just a little kid, we were all young and 12oz was just getting started. Now he’s a trial lawyer. True story.

A Vegas head learned of my collection of rap letter photos and recommended I start posting on 12. I had no idea what I was getting into but I knew if I presented myself as a female, attention would’ve been for the wrong reasons. I just wanted to share my photos. So I used the name my mother intended to give me had I been born a boy.(the initials SM) Not after the porn star, the wrestler, the male pole dancer or whoever else I have in common my digital collection is well over 100k images with only a small small amount of that in prints. got jumped into channel zero and have made some great connections. I used to kick it with this one writer back in the day that had hella magazines. I was looking at one magazine and i don't remember if it was a 12oz mag or something else but i find out about 12oz through him... im pretty sure he got his graff mags from tower too. Tower Records started in my city and there were locations all over my city and Tower and this small DJ/Hip Hop/Vinyl store were the only places to get mags at the time. I found the forum in late 2003 but just lurked because there wasnt a thread for my city in brick slayers..i was on another forum that was strictly for my city's graffiti.... for a few years... finally i rechecked 12oz on March 1st, 2004 and to my surprise somebody had made a thread for my city a couple weeks prior, so i signed up that very day....i posted heavily in brickslayers at 1st and would go out and bench to add to the thread. My first 1000 posts were mostly just in brickslayers and was mostly benching....i slowly started exploring the rest of the forum and found channel zero... started sharing my opinions on things there and started to recognize screen names and personalities... eventually stuck around and posted heavily until about 2007/2008... my city's thread got closed in August of 2007 because of shit talking and snitching... but i stayed on 12oz and at that point had met a bunch of 12oz heads (over 30 up until now)...i remade my city's thread 10 years to the day later from the day it got closed. I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I credit 12oz for my love of reading and teaching me to shave. Also for meeting a bunch of cool ass people...a couple of who I still call friends.

I was talking with @mr.yuckand that got me thinking about how I ended up on this forum. Here's my story: Back in the day, Icollected Jordan 4's and 1's only. all i did was camp out for sneakers to wear or sell. my collection got so big that my dad threatened to throw them out. So i sold them all and only wore vans for the longest time. I was at the hundreds store one day off fairfax street. All those brands on fairfax were usually what you wore when you were collecting sneakers in LA. I was always at the hundreds store. Hundreds was on rosewood at the time and the owner, bobby kim, would always allow us to skate his store back then. this was 2003. At that time, i didnt know that supreme was moving in. When 2008 rolled around, i was going to Cal State Northridge. I was at the hundreds store, but it got wild popular. Fucking grip of fuckboys hanging around like they were part of the crew. So i decided to walk down fairfax. I passed crooks and castles, solomon's book store, diamond supply.....then BAM i ran into supreme. they opened in 2003 in LA. I didn't even know. so i walked in and bought some shit. the first thing i bought was the penant new era, cargo pants, and the Rizzoli book. thank god i bought that book, cuz i saw "12ozprophet" as the photographer. That's how i discovered 12ozprophet. I know i was signed up on the forum back then, or i could be tripping. I hated when the store was down for years. Once the first tees dropped, i think, in 2014 i was copping. that's around the time i got to know Raven. I've been talking to Raven for 6 years now...this month oh shit.

We were able to make it out hiking 3 days this week after work, and it would have been 5 except for the weather Light rock climbing, bust a pair of packed in (and still warm) street burritos from the city. Fucking delicious (not pictured was too hungry). Just noticed my feet look smaller than my wife's at this angle, she's not going to like this photo's small dick energy. Dipped to this spot up a little further up the mountains A little colder up here, and the air is much thinner a 3 mile off trail feels like a workout Didn't get cold feet, but the sun is starting to sink Early to bed...

Rap letters. I honestly dont remember how. I know i found bombingscience first, then i think puregraffiti, once i found 12oz it was a wrap though.. may have been word of mouth from other writers. I contributed a lot of shitty photos to the Boston thread back before it became a total shit show and was a reflection of the state of things in the city itself. Once that thread got closed down and became the Massachusetts thread i kinda tapped out and stayed in Ch0. Made a lot of benching threads back then too. Then i realized i should just make 1 thread and keep updating it.

Found it online in 1999, maybe from people on Motosoul (detroit forum). Got banned on previous accounts for being a toy, dumb, and hacking rival writers accounts. I made this account circa Oct 2003. PureGraffiti had too many toys and 12oz had more content so I stayed.

12oz has been a part of my life off and on since I was probably 12 years old. I saw issues one and two at an older friends house and then got issue 3 on my own. The message board was just an extension of that. The magazine represented a lot of folks from out my way so it felt like I belonged to whatever they were producing. I owed my allegiance to the people who took the time to show me the path in some sense... Thanks Raven.

Me too actually, couldn't pass up the chance to clown on Supreme. It' looks like it could only be used to take the hat off, then clip it to your pack/belt. Possibly put that hat on your girl head, then don't tell her but clip a picture on the back printed from smash or trash of a thicc amputee, IDK.
