fat ralphy
I think I was introduced around 20 or 21 yro - my boy Laso logged on one day in his kitchen while some other homies were cooking up crack. I thought the internet was only for porn and couldnt believe something like 12oz existed. Learned about artcrimes shortly after. Spent a long ass time in Brickslayers as George Burns talking shit and cultivating beef in my area. Fat Ralphy evolved while I was in college and living in the City. I ran into @SukiSukiNowonce at a Giants game - she pulled my card and somehow knew who I was because of my gear and my camera I think....idk maybe she had a nameplate ring or necklace and I hit her up i cant remember. Anyway I posted frequently in Pies and somehow we crossed paths - brief exchange and she was cool. I dont know if the Giants were playing LA but thats a possibility, I think @CountChoculawas there too but I didnt meet him. I also met some cat in Ireland when I was back there looking for a solid place to get paint. My first awareness of ooontz I was 20 or so and now I am 42 - I think of many of you as quasi friends oddly enough and I occasionally ponder the day this shit is no longer. The thought makes me a little sad - it would definitely be the end of a chapter in my life haha 3
LUGR
That’s pretty wild about you or @SukiSukiNow recognizing the other and linking up briefly. We had a handful of fun Bay Area meet ups at an apartment around the TL, Dolores Park, Molotov's and The Chieftain. Lots of heavy hitters (posters) were in the building.
NightmareOnElmStreet
Mannnnn cool thread idea I cannot remember when I found the forum itself I think 18/19 I’m big 40 this year so that’s wild but I have very specific memories on how I ended up in this beautiful toxic holocaust channel zero lolol. I was only ever in bricklayers but in 2008/9 right after jail shit on some house arrest lock down my brother @SQUIRRELdemanded I go dig around here and sold it as the funniest shit ever. My memory is really down bad and getting worse wish I could say which thread it was exactly he made me start on but I got hooked in a day and it stuck forever. I’ve met a solid amount of really cool cats a couple becoming good friends to this day you know who you ares. Maybe the slayer pizza thing I think. Idfk there’s been a lot of legendary threads and it’s so fucking funny how much radness came out of the subculture within the subculture lololol. Could bring a tear to the ol eye tbh. 5

cancelculttourist
Yeah when I first got on somewhere around 12- 15 years old because my best friend who was British got me into writing I actually met someone through this sight in my area we linked and did some hood rat ish but I'm not name dropping because I do not recall the username and only his graf name but out of respect to him I shall keep it to myself. This forum is dope and hope to possibly meet more of my fellow oontzers and run some missions. I hope we keep this site going til we in the retirement home tagging the bathroom mirrors. I remember it used to be this other forum my skater filmer buddy introduced me to for skateboarding that is actually where king of the road spawned there idea from pretty sure it originated in texas, don't recall the name though. It was cool though people would send in there different king of the road challenges o and it was a lot more gutter and just dudes who came together then a bunch of silver spoon fed companies paying the way. SQUIRREL
Still lurking a little @LUGR. Glad I had email notifications on. I think I got on here with my caps lock mashed in in probably ‘03/‘04 in the Denver thread yelling about graffiti at 16. Made a new account a year or two later and it was Day in Pies that for sure got me hooked on Channel Zero. Makes me 36 about to be 37. I didn’t realize telling NOES about it would create such a monster. @NightmareOnElmStreet 2 2 1

misteraven
Member Number 0000001. JOINED: May 7, 1999. Early 50's now. This thread makes me want to start posting stories in The Unofficial History of 12ozProphet Thread. An especially good one that is highlighted in the Spotlights section. Thank you to all of you, past and present for decades of LOLZ. This thread though, gives me the warm and fuzzies. 3 1

Joker
Joined: April 2000 (not sure of my member number) Age Then: 31 (now 55) I'd known @misteravenfor a little while prior to this website/forum so when he mentioned he was starting it I was all in. I still have every issue of 12ozProphet, too. I can't recall where I spent most of my time when I was in here every day, often several times a day, but there were so many people posting in so many different threads that it was tough to keep up with all the incredible content. Now I spend most of my time looking at threads old and new that I typically wouldn't dig into. I've honestly enjoyed taking over the Toys Post Here thread and trying to help writers hone their skills. I'm by no means an expert in this game but I enjoy helping out best I can. Helped with ArtCrimes in their early days as well. Used to help with with website content, and for several years handled all their online orders for caps. Just these massive clear bins filled with thousands of caps. Easiest job I've ever had. And somehow I never stole a single cap. 6

LOL! Rap letter grown up table... too funny. Being completely honest, it has taken me years, I mean years, to come to grips with the "pioneer" label I've been given in regards to abstract Graffiti, so you'll have to cut me slack. I know I have expertise, not the best, but plenty to get by and share with those wanting help. I know @cancelculttourist, I know, but Susan (who has run ArtCrimes since day one) was/is a good friend so it was tough to pull one over and not feel guilty about it. 6
mr.yuck
Lol @Joker. I don't remember who I was talking with not more than a week or two ago, was probably @LUGRand we were lamenting about how these kids don't have a fucking clue how lucky they are to have an absolute legend patiently working with them on letter structure. The shit is wild to me. 2 3

Joker
So damn funny. Thanks for the good words! I think my work in the Toys Post here thread is because I come from an era where most toys had a mentor who helped learn the basics, then guided them along to perfect their craft, and for the most part we no longer have that. Toys come into the game and use the web as their inspiration and have no idea how any of this works, or better, how it should work. Yes, there are some hard-set rules letters and flow that are never going to go away, so it's our job to find our own path in how we make those rules work for us. If you've got no one to guide you then your work is going to suffer, you'll most likely get frustrated because you're not improving, and eventually you fall off because the little bit of feedback you're getting is from the same place you're getting your inspiration and it's fucking brutal. Writers are easily the most crucial to their own when it comes to feedback, so getting it right should be a priority. Getting it right requires guidance. 6 1
