$20.00 is fuck all in Australia - a 15 year old working at Mcdonalds makes $9.00 an hour so $20.00 and a load of fun isn't going to work when a coke is 2.50 -4.50 and a beer at a pub costs $7.00 upwards

sheesh

for me it's going to involve a lot of walking to the beach.

swim

two longnecks of beer $15.00

hot chips -5.00

Bunk on the tram home

but possibly

OR

wrap this around you and run the streets.

eventually the coppers will give you a free feed plus you'll have $10.00 left over

On a more serious note, some of my favorite cheap activities from the past:

• Case of cheap beer, gram of good weed and a good place outdoors to sit down and drink/smoke

• Any outdoor/fitness activity with a relatively high quality meal for 2, prep'd at home and packed.

• $20 worth of quarters and an arcade (shout out to the pinball hall of fame in Las Vegas).

• Skateboarding for a few hours, with a cheap meal worked into the mix.

• Bicycling for a few hours, with a cheap meal worked into the mix.

Cheapest I can go here is $17, that's in Queens with old school style theater seats (Kaufmann's) and a hit or miss audience. In Manhattan most theaters have been converted into modern "luxury" ones with recliners, assigned seating etc. Finding a new release for $20 or less Fughettaboudit. Best deal I found when looking for Joker tickets recently was a place on my old block in Manhattan, $21 to view on 70mm film, still old school style seats but great audience usually. Real movie buffs will go to the theaters by themselves, so if you're into the movie, still could be a great experience for less than $20

When I was in BK I would go to a shitty old theater that was dirty and smelled of wino piss despite the absence of winos,BUT, you could probbly still get in there with your ticket/popcorn under $20.  I usually bring a soda and a half pint of sumthin with me so no need to buy the theater's.  This luxury theater shit is b.s. between the cost, assigned seating whatever.  Also going to the movies by yourself is a good move, but then there's my girl's take on it too- with those luxury recliner seats she don't want to be laying down next to a stranger in a dark theater.

Back on $20 though if we were doing it as some sort of challenge or something I'd probably try my hand at going to the casino and making that my limit.  I stick to slots and $20 is typically my limit.  Last time I was in the area and walked in with $20 and back out maybe 60 minutes later with about $100 (after buying a burger and a beer).  Bought myself a tank of gas and went home.

Meanwhile an adult ticket here, not matinee, is $10 for general admission at the nice theater. If you join their rewards club you get 20% and if you get the pro version for $8.99 a month you get a free movie per month and 50% off the second ticket.

Saw Joker for $14, 4 ew nips 2 cokes (cans, always) in my jacket, cup of ice.

$20 is the price of a small premium cichlid, a few large anubius, or a nice stock up on feeder shrimp/fish food.

A 6 pick parlay for $20  on some football games can make a Saturday or Sunday afternoon pop.

Probably just got to the flea market or an estate sale and buy a pile of junk.

Being inside a strangers home and being encouraged to dig thru their life’s collection is fun.

Smoothie ($12) and entrance into Barton Springs Pool ($5) then walk across street to Zilker Botanical Garden ($3)

nature is fun
