“Philadelphia's affiliate reported that police officers were told "a group" was "driving up from Virginia in a Hummer to unleash an attack at the Convention Center."

Police declined to comment on the report, and no other information was available from the department. An investigation from Philadelphia Police and the FBI was ongoing, the department said.

Social media posts circulated Friday morning showing the Hummer still parked where it was found. Photos shared by a Philadelphia Inquirer reporter showed the vehicle with Virginia plates and QAnon stickers on it. QAnon is a baseless, far-right conspiracy theory that alleges without evidence that President Donald Trump is combating a satanic "deep state" apparatus that supports a child sex trafficking ring.”

@misteravenThat is a solid post - I tend to agree with much of what she has to say....

At this point though, I think we (America) have become something that is no longer manageable through citizens influence. A monster that has become too big to yield to citizens demands - the corporate powers and wealth gap seem almost unsurpassable and their influence permeates every level of office.

Our military is beyond description - as it fuels militarizations around the globe and leaves average joe hoping no one ever pushes a button.

I am not trying to be a pessimist-have we reached a tipping point? Too little too late or can  we bring change? Through what means?

As said, I think we're likely destined to learn this the hard way, which I would presume eventually leads to a total collapse. Maybe that's a dramatic view of it, but the chasm is far too wide to be bridged at this point, IMO. As a society, we've lost the ability for critical thought and reason and instead fall back to the baser instincts that I believe have been encouraged through the overall dumbing down of America, wether its the public education system, hollywood, social media and all else. Every bit of it seems engineered to discourage meaningful discourse and instead push the emotional buttons that get people wound up. We see it at the micro level here on the forum where its virtually impossible to open people up from the biases that show up with. No doubt many of us, myself included have had the types of conversations on here that are just so draining that you start to question why even come back, when its so much easier to reside in the echo chambers where everyone is parroting back the same talking points that make you feel better or validated or whatever.

I think it's well within our control to fix this, I just don't think anyone will. Most haven't even realized that the part that needs fixing is largely themselves and their own role in cultivating the hyper polarization that has infected everything and everyone. Too many people conditioned to believe its their responsibility to engage in other people's business and interfere or support depending on whether it follows the ideology of their team or the enemies team. All of that comes at the expense of all the energy and investments to ensure your own life is what it should be. In fact, it sheds responsibility and accountability for yourself, by projecting it on others and then culminates in this fake feeling of accomplishment because you're "woke" and "engaged".

How have they annoyed you?  You're not being too sensitive are you?

fuck outta here with that snowflake bs lmao. They annoy me because many treat trump like a god and justify anything he does no matter how bad. plus they like to say they have morals n shit but i mentioned that i supported blm one time on twitter (im half black) and i got berated with comments saying that im a "commie fascist" "blm are the real racist" while getting questionably racist shit said to me by them. also these r the ppl to say all lives matter yet justify  geroge floyds death because of a crime he did a decade ago and saying Brianna Taylor deserved her death too, because her boyfriend shot first or wtf ever the story still isnt clear. there is just so much hypocrisy it is almost laughable

His supporters think Biden is going to bring communist tyranny upon America when trump has more traits of a dictator. his supporters love loose gun restrictions yet trump said he has done more gun control than any other president like tf. An also idk how u guys feel abt this but trump is using a lot of fear mongering abt dems rigging elections and all this socialist bs. every hour i get more suspicious of this stop the count shit going on because the more I look into mail in voting the this seems like the norm of what would happen in circumstances like this. but what do i know im just a libtard

Also i want to say im neither democrat or republican but lately republicans havent been in my favor

Let me understand what you're saying here:

* If someone treats someone or something else "like a God", then this affects your sensitivities.
* If someone "says they have morals" then this affects your sensitivities.

* You are sensitive to being "berated" on social media after sharing your opinions publicly.
* You know that people "saying things you do not like support Trump" and this affects your sensitivities.
* You are sensitive to people you don't know saying that someone that you don't know "deserved to die for xyz" reason.
* Hypocrisy is funny to you, maybe sarcastically it's "funny" to you.

* "All Trump supporters think Biden is going to make America communist" and this upsets you.

* His supporters "are confused because they don't understand the gun laws Trump has put into place" and this upsets you.
* "Trump is using fear mongering about 'dems' rigging elections" to do..... exactly what?.... and this upsets you... or makes you wonder how we feel about it.

Seems like a lot of stretching going on there.  I'd say if all those points are "true" for you then you have a lot to be upset about.

I'd say just stop being so sensitive.  How does one waste their time on being sensitive about things they cannot change?  Interesting.

Like I told my kids over the last few days - it doesn’t matter who wins, we will still do our best and take care of our people.

@misteraven Your points are all solid imo - although I don’t know if there is an imminent collapse necessarily but like the current state of affairs show - life will be impacted  to a degree that we are all forced to recognize what has happened.

On a side note guize have you heard that Lamar Odams fiancé left him and Kim K.’s ass has been cancelled, Zuckerberg still a cyborg btw derpderpderpderp.......

Wasn't suggesting the collapse is imminent. To clarify, I feel on so many fronts that matter, we're are on unsustainable paths. Several of them individually could arguably collapse life as we know it, but when so many are stacked against us as is... Seems inevitable at a certain point. I'd assume it's a cascading affect or the analogy... domino effect. Maybe even no single one of them, even the big ones can do it, but when you're already weakened substantially, piling on additional kicks to the proverbial nuts... Eventually you just drop to the floor and climb into a fetal position.
