We were fishing from the canoe. As for the knife, unsure since that’s my friends knife. My current EDC is a Benchmade Bailout. Kinda pricey but a very awesome, very quality knife.

One Man Banned
Just spent some time away off grid, will post a little here/there. Days spent in woods, fields, mountains, bodies of water, moss and pine needle carpeting, all types of animals, clean air, little light/air/noise pollution. Phone/tv/computer off and barely touched. Beautiful spaces I could sit at all day. You encounter and pass animals in the wild in a more natural sense. While I'm off grid I'm reminded that the borders of the grid are always expanding. Even out where I am there are signs in the distance, the arrival of yurts and glamping smh. Reminds me of the need to protect our off grid spaces, keep them secreted away to preserve them from the ignorant and the unappreciative.
One Man Banned
My normal off grid view. Aces of private land, woods turned ancient farm to be reclaimed by woods.
One Man Banned
MVI_7475.MP4 One piece of many minutes with this young buck. I had set out to find him and obviously did. In this clip he's challenging me with snorts and posture, not quite hoof stomping but close. Worth mentioning that we're coming into the rut now so that's influencing his behavior too.

One Man Banned
Seen a lot of eagles and other birds of prey just sitting on that pond, many too high to catch w/ the camera but it looks like they see me. Would love to get a shot of one of these up close

I was wondering if that was a porcupine, looks like one, but I thought different because I didn't know porcupines climb trees.

One Man Banned
MVI_7572.MP4 I should probably mention don't do this, find your own thing, I'm sharing shit I enjoy but many would call this dangerous and/or stupid and they may well be right. We climbed down some rock cliffs to sit in this tidal pool, using the rocks in front of us as a break. But that's open ocean in front of us, it gets deep fast, and rogue waves are very real. There's a lot I like about this but there's one main reason I'm here. Next slide.....
One Man Banned
This really made my day, had this experience in this exact spot maybe a year ago and had returned with hopes to repeat it. Mission accomplished. There are protection laws for seals, think they prevent you from coming within 100' or doing anything that may disturb or harass. But in reverse, the animal can approach you, so we sat patiently until this little lady popped up for a breather maybe 20' in front of us. 3
