shaolinmasta
Easily one the best directors out there entertained me too many times I just saw Shutter Island didn't disappoint as usual Top 3 films IMO Txi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas keeps coming with the good shit never fails De Niro is a better actor than Di Caprio but he's not far off.

christo-f
Nicky's methods of betting weren't scientific, but they worked. When he won, he collected. When he lost, he told the bookies to go fuck themselves. I mean, what were they going to do, muscle Nicky? Nicky was the muscle. I think in all fairness, I should explain to you exactly what it is that I do. For instance tomorrow morning I'll get up nice and early, take a walk down over to the bank and... walk in and see and, uh... if you don't have my money for me, I'll... crack your fuckin' head wide-open in front of everybody in the bank. And just about the time that I'm comin' out of jail, hopefully, you'll be coming out of your coma. And guess what? I'll split your fuckin' head open again. 'Cause I'm fuckin' stupid. I don't give a fuck about jail. That's my business. That's what I do. You hear a little girl, Frankie? Is that a little girl, Ace? Is that a little fuckin' girl? What happened to the fuckin' tough guy who told my friend to stick it up his fuckin' ass? Maybe if I stick your head through that window over there you'll get unconfused. Give me the fuckin money. Power Bill
just thinking about goodfellas about 30 mins ago the part where they are talking about Paulie"s system of slicing garlic with a razor blade to make it liquify in the pan. Italian gangster flicks always make me hungry.

christo-f
Ha, no shit I will, at least once a week think about what that dish would taste like. I constantly tell myself that I'll slice garlic like that one day too.

Croupier
Scorsese is cool and all but his anal loving of dicaprio is a bit annoying. I hear you (sort of). DeNiro was in at least 5 of his films, & I have no problem w/that shit, so... Dicaprio can be a badass- His role Gilbert Grape was Oscar worthy. Croupier
i've watched mean streets on a number of occasions. everytime it ends i always ask myself... "what the fuck was that film aboot?" Think of it like a dramatic episode of Seinfeld. It is just some "day in the life of..." type shit & the characters that make the day/neighborhood/life interesting. That's what I get from it, anyway. I think Scorsese was doing a lot of blow when Mean Streets was made.

christo-f
Henry Hill: You're a pistol, you're really funny. You're really funny. Tommy DeVito: What do you mean I'm funny? Henry Hill: It's funny, you know. It's a good story, it's funny, you're a funny guy. [laughs] Tommy DeVito: What do you mean, you mean the way I talk? What? Henry Hill: It's just, you know. You're just funny, it's... funny, the way you tell the story and everything. Tommy DeVito: [it becomes quiet] Funny how? What's funny about it? Anthony Stabile: Tommy no, You got it all wrong. Tommy DeVito: Oh, oh, Anthony. He's a big boy, he knows what he said. What did ya say? Funny how? Henry Hill: Jus... Tommy DeVito: What? Henry Hill: Just... ya know... you're funny. Tommy DeVito: You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little fucked up maybe, but I'm funny how, I mean funny like I'm a clown, I amuse you? I make you laugh, I'm here to fuckin' amuse you? What do you mean funny, funny how? How am I funny? Henry Hill: Just... you know, how you tell the story, what? Tommy DeVito: No, no, I don't know, you said it. How do I know? You said I'm funny. How the fuck am I funny, what the fuck is so funny about me? Tell me, tell me what's funny! Henry Hill: [long pause] Get the fuck out of here, Tommy! Tommy DeVito: [everyone laughs] Ya motherfucker! I almost had him, I almost had him. Ya stuttering prick ya. Frankie, was he shaking? I wonder about you sometimes, Henry. You may fold under questioning. Henry Hill: [narrating] And then there was Jimmy Two Times, who got that nickname because he said everything twice, like: Jimmy Two Times: I'm gonna go get the papers, get the papers. Tommy DeVito: Oh, I like this one... One dog goes one way, the other dog goes the other way, and this guy's sayin', "Whadda ya want from me?'
