menaceIIsobriety
Fireside: canned or bottled. had the canned at the event i posted on the last page, tasted like hot sex on a platter. (Back In Black was as nearly amazing)
somethinglikethat
Sipping on this right now. Delicioso
thecarwreck
Fireside: canned or bottled. Canned... (they make bottles?). So good. Can't find much from those guys out my way so I'm going to cop whatever I can get once I cross the Cascades. PS: old cans FTW. meant to say that earlier. somethinglikethat
More or less a standard export stout, very flavorful, 7.0 ABV. It's their fall seasonal.
eviltrailer77
Drinking Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome rite nao. It really isn't as good as I remember it from back in the day (92/93). It was one of the first "good" beers I had so maybe my pallet has matured.
menaceIIsobriety
i have noticed that ALOT lately, trying beers i thought were "really good" again later in life. i used to think Mississippi Mud was like the holy fucking grail in the early 90's, i had one last year & almost didn't even finish it. shit tasted SO watered down, like a soda sitting all day after ice melted in it. (idk. maybe were all just fucking spoiled to death with the ease of access these days!?)
Syracuse99
just had the snow day two days, not bad. Im lookin forward to trying the Winter Warlock by Bristol Brewing. misterblunt
CarWreck I must spread before i can props u again. Glad you enjoyed the fireside, but I don't see how you can hate the pumking and love this beer. Spice profile seems really similar to me but the fireside is a lot more brown. I've gone through at least 30 sixers of that fireside lately, I'm addicted.
thecarwreck
no way duder... that pumking is waaaaaaaaay far from fireside. maybe i just got a wonky bottle but, ugh. on another note, I had the Pike Monk's Uncle Triple. Belgians and I don't get along too well--I don't know if it's the strain of yeast or what but they wreck me instantly. Drunker than I've been in a while plus a weird headache to make it unfun. Anyway, Pike's is weird in general. I'm not going back.
the.crooked
Pike's barleywine is well worth it. Go back.
ShortFuse
I saw the NB Snow day a few posts up. I find it funny because I HATE NB by the bottle but I tend to like their brews by the draft pour.... I loved Snow day at work by draft but the minute I bought it the other night by the bottle I was disappointed...really angry because I passed up Sweet Water Motor Boat for the Snow Day... its done and gone now, not like I wasnt going to drink it hahaha, sipping on some Stone Levitation Ale atm
menaceIIsobriety
NOT a NB fan, never have never will. (i drank Bud all night, snobs)
the.crooked
NB can blow me. And menace... you can play that "i'm one of the pleebs" card all you want, but I see what you drink, you pandering bitch. ;-)
mackfatsoe
barleywine gives me a fucking headache, or maybe it was just that 15% dogfish nonsense. whiskey hungover, I guess I bought a firestone double jack to take home at last call, if I didn't feel like shit I might drink it my hangovers keep getting more depressing, fuck getting old
thecarwreck
Funny, I just got Firestone Union Jack on a whim last night... trying it when I get home today. Said I was off the west coast IPAs but I can't get away from the fuckers. And if I could get Yuengling right now (even the light shit), I'd be drinking a million of them... so /nosnob all day. the.crooked
I'm gonna have to agree with that. Had a new fav of recent times today. GreenFlash double stout. Delicious.
count chocula
be sure to give the firestone velvet merlin a try i was pleasantly surprised -- and i'm not much of a stout guy
eviltrailer77
I have had some of the stone/green flash colabs with the "Belgo" yeast are yuck-yuck, but everything I have had from just green flash has been awesome. That Velvet Merlin is an option in my fridge.
theprotester
Got rid of a Green Flash IPA this morning before work, not bad. Might have been a bit old, because it certainly didn't bite like a 95+ibu'ER - even at 6am.
