Bojangles
Hayabusa, 24x36 $200 sold out of my house, so no gallery fees. Pehks, Throw out a project idea. I'm down. Read the older pages of this thread. We used to have some good ones. P.S. It got the name (my painting) because I thought it looked like a fishing lure. Decyferon
says gutrot I know this has more of an overall outline on it rather than individual letters, is this too graf influienced to be abstract? still just trying things out so always like to hear what you have to say about it. I think there is probably too much letter in it to be abstract, im just getting a feel for it on paper before I try it on canvas
Picky P.
just my $.02, but i'd say it's still in the 'abstracted' category. how far abstracted is a relative enterprise...but i wouldn't call it a graff piece necessarily. i'd like to see the finished version. it'll be interesting to see what the change in medium will do for the flavor of what you're going for. Joker
Interesting. I would say just the opposite. Still looks to close to conventional Graffiti, to me. The fill, the black outer-outline... just a few of the things that keep it traditional. I'm not saying you can't do simple, elegant traditional looking Graffiti that has an element of abstract flavor... look at Preys... but in the image above there's just too much "Graffiti" in there. Joker
If you're in the bay area please be advised that one of our fellow artists, Augustine Kofie, is having a solo show at White Walls gallery on 835 Larkin. Show opens tomorrow night and if you dig abstract art you're going to dig his work.
