My thing about tv chefs these days is they're mainly billed as celebrity chefs and they do gimicky shows more focused on entertainment than cooking skills or learning.  Contrast that to what I grew up with where cooking shows taught you to cook.  I was excited when my cable co added shit like Food Network, but was disappoint to see most of the shows were game shows and b.s.  A dude like Guy Fieri, it does seem like he uses some of his $$ to benefit others.  On the other hand, his whole gimmick is watch me stuff my fat face at greasy spoons you'll never be able to get to.  Would he or others of his kind really be missed?  You can put all these celeb chefs in the blender.
