bigdoughnut69 Posted July 29, 2011 Share Posted July 29, 2011 COSTA MESA (KTLA) -- Medical examiners have identified a mummified corpse that was left in the passenger seat of a woman's car for 10 months.Detective Sgt. Paul Beckman said Friday that the Orange County coroner's office identified the desiccated body after hydrating the tips of the fingers to get usable fingerprints. The woman, Signe Margit, 59 of Laguna Hills, had not been seen since December. Its believed the woman was homeless. Officers made the gruesome discovery on Monday while responding to a report of an illegally parked car. The car was blocking a driveway in the 2000 block of Tustin Avenue in Costa Mesa. Officers could smell a foul odor coming from the car, and after seeing a leg underneath a pile of clothing, broke a window to get access inside. Inside the car, officers also found a box of baking soda that the driver used to try to dissipate the smell. Police say the driver befriended the homeless woman and let her sleep in her car, but when she died overnight the woman was too afraid to go to police. So police say she tried to cover the remains with pieces of clothing and continued to drive the car. An autopsy has revealed no obvious signs of foul play. mosluggo Posted July 30, 2011 Share Posted July 30, 2011 Boater finds brick of likely cocaine, snorts some, dies A Merritt Island videographer died in a Miami hospital Thursday after he snorted an unknown substance -- possibly cocaine -- from a brick he found floating off the Middle Keys, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says. Thomas Swindal, 53, and his brother Kenneth were trolling in about 200 feet of water on Wednesday when, Detective Mark Maison said, they found what they believed to be a kilo of cocaine and brought it aboard the boat, tossing it into the bait well. They kept on fishing and, Kenneth Swindal told detectives, he looked back a short time later and saw his brother open the package and ingest some of its contents. He said about an hour and a half later, Thomas Swindal began to run around the boat, throw things in the water and even gaffed the engine, which fell off the boat and sank. He continued acting strangely, running around with knives and pliers, so Kenneth Swindal threw all the sharp objects, as well as the package, off the boat. Because they had no means of communication -- Thomas Swindal had tossed their cell phone off the boat -- and the boat lost its engine, the brothers climbed to the top of the boat and began signaling for help. A nearby vessel responded and called for help. The state Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded and transported the two to shore, where they were met by paramedics. Thomas Swindal was taken to Fishermen's Hospital and later transferred to South Miami Hospital, where he died Thursday. An autopsy is planned. The Sheriff's Office says never, ever bring aboard your boat "any object [you] suspect to be contraband." And, the agency says, "it certainly is never safe to ingest any substance if you do not know what the substance is or what the potency of the substance might be." And no idea how this is possible... For his 21st birthday Thursday, the Atlanta rapper bought himself a $35 million dollar private jet, a rep from his management team reportedly told TMZ. But apparently, the G5 jet needed some "Pretty Boy Swag" upgrades. According to reports, Soulja will be spending an additional $20 million dollars to add flat screen TVs, 4 liquor bars, a dozen Italian leather seats, Brazilian hardwood cabinets, and travertine tiled flooring.
