grim540
couldn't that be because of liquor laws in some states? for instance heard a few states cannot sell beer and stuff in grocery stores.

ClueTwo
Basically. Your states are so fucking lame, and boring that the only thing to do to pass the time is to drink away your depression induced by the soul crushing lameness of your states. Rest of the world> Midwest. I could give a fuck about their studies, statistics, or data. This comment above is the most factual information on the page... SwampFightOner
Yeah, only because you live there. Haha, there's alot of fine drinkers in my state. Me, Manute, and HATER can put some serious liquor away, I'd put us against any 3 man team on here. One of only two states that never ratified prohibition, and our State's Attorney fought it in court for years haha

50million
those states (with mostly red) have a lot of rural area, or small towns. they probably have like one big grocery store everyone drives to, and a few bars here and there. makes sense. their research sucks. Swindle
hi, i heard we were having a "who can drink more" argument? Haha, there's alot of fine drinkers in my state. FREIGHTYONE
Pennsylvania doesn't sell beer or liquor in grocery stores, so this shit is mad skewed. That said, I lived in a few spots in WI, including Milwaukee and Madison among others, and people definitily do drink more there than here. FREIGHTYONE
RI either, it fuckin sucks. I'm always amazed when I go places and can get beers out of 7-11s and shit no doubt, I go to states that sell the shit everywhere and end up wilin' the fuck out. I thought we were the only backwards state.
SwampFightOner
Nah man, that's the one thing I hate about this state. You can't purchase alcohol anywhere but a liquor store, and our bars close at 1 (2 on the weekend). Our liquor stores used to be closed on Sundays too, but that changed 5 or 6 years ago
gasfacevictm
Pennsylvania doesn't sell beer or liquor in grocery stores Not to mention having to sell beer and liquor in separate stores and not being able to buy beer in any amount under a case unless you go to an overpriced take-out store or bar. Pennsylvania has some shitty laws. :hatred:
KAISER-SOZE
http://chicagoist.com/2010/03/09/confirmed_wisconsin_drunker_than_il.php[/url] FloatingSheep loves to stick data on maps, thereby graphically illustrating the data, and one of their new maps is a real lulu. Using stats gleaned from Google Maps, they did a simple comparison between grocery stores and bars to discover a remarkable geographically [sic] phenomenon. We had expected that grocery stores would outnumber bars and for most parts of North America that is the case. But we could also clearly see the "beer belly of America" peeking out through the "t-shirt of data." Starting in Illinois, the beer belly expands up into Wisconsin and first spreads westward through Iowa/Minnesota and then engulfs Nebraska, and the Dakotas before petering out (like a pair of love handles) in Wyoming and Montana. In other words, on the map above every patch of red represents a location where bars outnumber grocery stores. Dubious at the results, they looked at official 2007 Census Country Business Pattern data. And it matched up. It's easier to see on the full sized map: although Illinois clearly loves a good tipple, all that red in Wisconsin jibes with Forbes 2006 list of America's Drunkest Cities, which had Milwaukee as the most soused metropolis in the nation. Chicago? #6. BITCHES!!! That chart doesn't really means shit considering that you can get takeout beer from grocery stores in a lot of states, and a lot of people don't drink at bars too often. I know a lot of people who drink on the regular and only go to bars every now and then. Plus the fact that the red encompasses baron ass states where there's barely any people.
