SukiSukiNow Posted January 5, 2010 Share Posted January 5, 2010 new years morning korean tradition. open doors and windows to invite our ancestors in to join us for food. my mom starts the preparation day before and cooks all day and next morning. i used to hate doing this but as i get older and my traditions fade slowly i try my best to be involved in my cultural traditions as much as possible. the number 3 is very important, circle the wine glass 3 times, pour the wine 3 times, bow 3 times... shumai didn't understand why they had to be outside rice cake soup is what you eat new years morning to bring good luck. mom made me a vegetarian version of it. dad poured dude a glass of korean wine. dude was stoked that he was having wine for breakfast. kids bow to elders and receive money in envelopes, score!!! shumai was the only one who dressed in tradition korean han-bok for the new years morning celebration Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
