DookieMcdookerton
Who listens to heavy music? What're you talking into? What're yinz vibin' on?
Fist 666
Sure. The heavier the better. Twisted Sister. Warrant. Ratt. Firehouse. Dokken. Fuck yeah. 2
DookieMcdookerton
Im not really into those bands but fuck yeah! I'm always blastin' Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies type stuff. Got a lot of hardcore/punk in the mix too. It's cool hearing writers like heavy shit.

Fist 666
With the lines between metalcore and metal blurring so much over the last decade I don't care if this is metal enough for this thread. Zombie apocalypse--life without pain is a fucking fantasy drops tomorrow and I'm fucking stoked. I talked to Matt fox at a Shai hulud show about this album like 6 years ago and it's finally here. One Man Banned
Going through som eold shit I found the remains of some old metal mags, thought this might provide some nostalgia and amusement

Hua Guofang
Listened to the new Tool album last night (whilst researching Russian conventional forces, seemed appropriate). Not as impressed as I am by Aenima and 10,000 days. However, they both grew on me, a lot. So here's hoping this one does too.
One Man Banned
Side rant here but those tshirts I posted above remind me of how you used to be able to get a kick ass shirt for $12, maybe $18-22 for a concert shirt. Probably corrupted me because these days I can't see laying down more than $20 on a nice T. That Car Bomb cover @Lorne_Malvoposted really reminds me of an old album cover, just mashed up. Can't think of what album though.
Hua Guofang
Agreed on the T-shirt thing. $30 max for me but it has to be a cracker. IF not, fuck it, $15 plain black, white or grey shirts. Fuck the system.

Fist 666
I would put that in the hardcore thread, but I fucking love early earth crisis, everything pre slither. Screaming along to vegan straight edge songs is still fun, even though i "broke edge " at 22 and haven't gone more than a couple days without meat in about as much time. Firestorm and gommorhas season ends destroy.
Fist 666
And cosign on tshirts @One Man Banned. Before 2005 I swear the only band shirt I bought that was more than $10 at a show was Immortal when they toured with ManOwaR, which was $28 and I'm still mad about it. My eighteen visions windbreaker only cost $25... Now $20 is standard for a piece of shit gildan shirt that only fits Wal-Mart shopper midgets after the first wash. Makes me wonder how much @misteravenlost on those $12 forum tees. Cause $40 for a quality t these days is pretty fair imo.
abrasivesaint
It depends on the bands obviously, but ya $20 is pretty standard. I imagine something like a Metallica or Black Sabbath shirt goes for like $40.
abrasivesaint
I remember when i saw Municipal Waste open for Exodus those shirts were pricey. Like minimum $25 for Municipal shirts.
Fist 666
@abrasivesaintA lot of times smaller bands sign agreements to charge $X for shirts/merch so as to not compete with the headliner. Had a friends' band tour with Lamb of Dogshit and they could not charge less than $30 for tees so that fans would be more likely to buy the headliner's merch over the openers. abrasivesaint
Not surprised at all. I once saw bigger pop punk bands take all the door money and screw without playing because the turnout wasnt what was expected and their guarantee was bigger than the smaller hardcore bands.. third parties got involved and everyone got paid, haha. One Man Banned
Founds more old metal magz, maybe a fun trip down memory lane for some. Posting for others. Was never into MF/KD. But if true, I've enjoyed the back story that he was made to learn opera and he turned it into this lol.
