There are over twenty new or higher taxes in Obamacare. Several will first go into effect on January 1, 2011. They include:

 

The “Medicine Cabinet Tax” Thanks to Obamacare, Americans will no longer be able to use health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin).

 

The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike. This provision of Obamacare increases the additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10 to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent.

 

Brand Name Drug Tax. Starting next year, there will be a multi-billion dollar tax imposed on name-brand drug manufacturers. This tax, like all excise taxes, will raise the price of medicine, hurting everyone.

 

The Tanning Tax. This went into effect on July 1st of this year. It imposes a new, 10% excise tax on getting a tan at a tanning salon. There is no exemption for tanners making less than $250,000 per year.

 

Economic Substance Doctrine. The IRS is now empowered to disallow perfectly-legal tax deductions and maneuvers merely because it judges that the deduction or action lacks “economic substance.” This is obviously an arbitrary empowerment of IRS agents.

 

Now this is just for 1/1/2011, wait until the next 15+ tax increases go in after that just from Obamacare.

Also you heard at all about the VAT tax they want to use to pay for Obamacare? Kind of like the 30% sales tax you see in places like Ireland... National sales tax would hurt our nation no doubt about it. In the US there have been talks about it starting out around 1% and eventually climbing to over 20%... this is real, this could happen, people should be concerned (but most people are oblivious like you and don't think that your president would ever do something like that to you).

This though, is true. Obama isnt really raising the taxes to some unheard of level. Whats happening is the tax levels from before bush took office are being reinstated. Bush came in and lowered them, which was good for 10 years. Its up to Obama to either keep them at that level, or let them continue to reset to pre-bush days.

. . . and all of this spending that they do living the good life will provide jobs for the middle class who work these mediocre jobs and give one third of their checks away so that the government can run.

Come on check your numbers!! Only people paying 10% are single and less than $8,375 and Married filing jointly less than $16,750.

 

If you are upper class you are in the 35% tax braket.
