Pretty sure he's talking about whatever this shit is, not leather cleaner:

Rush-Head-Cleaner.jpg

No idea on the details, but i remember him mentioning it a few other times.

up here its labeled as "leather cleaner" so they can sell it in stores:

What are poppers?

Nitrite inhalants (alkyl nitrites) include isobutyl nitrite, butyl nitrite, and amyl nitrite.

Amyl nitrite is made and sold illegally, but most poppers are isobutyl nitrite or butyl nitrite sold in small brown bottles as “video head cleaner,” “room deodorizer,” or “leather cleaner.”

The exact contents of these products are not known—they are not safety tested.

What are the effects?

Poppers are used by sniffing the vapors from an open bottle. The effects are felt within a few seconds and last for 1-2 minutes.

Poppers are peripheral vasodilators, meaning they cause the muscles around blood vessels to relax, making the heart speed up to pump more blood. Oxygen-rich blood reaching the brain produces a “rush” sensation.

Because poppers cause muscles in the anus and vagina to relax, they are often used during sex.

Poppers are frequently used with other drugs (e.g., cocaine, methamphetamine) in sexual situations.

What are the risks?

If swallowed, poppers are toxic – call 911 or poison control.

Because poppers cause blood vessels to open, it may be easier to get a sexually transmitted infection if poppers are used with sex. Popper use has been associated with an increased risk of HIV, human herpesvirus 8, and human papillomavirus (the virus implicated in anal cancer) infection.

Recent seroincidence studies estimate that up to 28% of contemporary HIV infections among MSM can be attributed to nitrite inhalant use.

Among MSM in San Francisco between 1985 and 1991, consistent users of poppers were 2.5 times more likely to seroconvert than non-users.

Among 354 MSM surveyed recently, 31.6% reported any poppers use during the previous year.

Studies suggest popper use may reduce immune system functioning.

Combining poppers and Viagra may be fatal because both cause blood pressure to drop.

Poppers are highly flammable and should be kept away from cigarettes, candles and lighters.

Federal law bans the sale or distribution of alkyl nitrites for use as poppers. Commercial purposes, as well as individual possession and use, are not banned.

the first 2 pages of this thread were pretty good. farce wins, servers definitely whine too much. if i'm

pouring drinks, and i got a full bar of people tipping me and a server doesn't want to throw

anything my way at the end of the night for making their drink orders promptly, they get put on the 'low

priority' list quick.

This^^

I worked as a server for a couple of years in New York, and I've occasionally dealt with some poor tips and some mismanaged kitchens, but I was always professional about it and I probably had more experience than the thread starter who is most likely exaggerating. I rarely got less than 20% in tips, unless it was a table of Europeans who assume I earn a living wage vs. working for tips(like in their country).

After moving up to a management position, I learned more about the back of the house and dealt with both sides. Part of a waiter's job is to understand the window of time for the dishes in their restaurant to be served(based on a night's volume), and to create a flow out of the process of seating customers with their water/menus, drink orders, explanation of specials, appetizers, entrees, etc.

Now as a career bartender with all of that experience behind me, I have no tolerance for a whiny server who can't man up and deal with it. Thank god the floor staff at my restaurant is more professional than this guy, although I realize he's only working in the service industry until he can find a "real job" so we shouldn't expect much from him. Go work in retail.

i was a waitress once. i didnt work at a renowned restaurant or anything, so i didnt expect everyone to like all their food.

i realized soon that people are picky about everything. even sending beer back because it wasn't 'bubbly' enough or some shit. sometimes, you gotta just roll with the flow. if the kitchen keeps fucking up religiously, it's obvious they dont care and neither should you. if you want to serve better food, go to a different restaurant that cares.

kitchen work is fucking hard and not for everyone. my old roommate used to work for one of the best chefs for a decently priced meal in sf - he soon couldnt handle the pressure, got into coke, and stopped showing up for work.

dont they automatically add a gratuity of a certain percentage to a bill that expensive?

i call bullshit.

i fucking hate male servers. all metrosexual faggots that always stand too close and offer some bullshit statement on why the spinach and artichoke dip is "to die for".

if i wanted a man to fix me a drink id stay home and top myself up.

tits get tips.

ive had terrible service from either genders. i dont think it really matters. if someone is robot like or not really present, their service is going to suck. if they are real, down to earth and are helpful, their service is probably going to be good.

the best waiters and waitresses i've had are nice, super down to earth and are relaxed as fuck.

the whole point of the job (In America, anyway) is to earn tips. Naturally, a server will probably try to describe the dishes aptly. "The artichoke dip is to die for" sounds like some shit out of a 50's movie, I picture a dude with a bowtie and a waxed mustache with a British accent.

From my experience, the kitchen usually gets along better with the bartender than with the floor staff. Maybe that's because after the waiters leave for the night, the kitchen staff comes out to the bar for some shift drinks and we bullshit for a few hours gettin hammered off of free booze. Of course, if I'm working with a hot waitress that night, she can stay after hours as well.

there is nothing more frustrating than walking into a nice restaurant and seeing about 20 hot girls bouncing around, getting seated by a hot hostess, and then the one male server sidles up and starts pouring water.

it breaks my heart.

tits get tips.

Where's the thread starter?

New pet peeve >

Starting a thread and never coming back to it, especially considering we've stepped up and given great advice, the least she could do is thank us.

Ungrateful bitch.

I hope she's getting butt raped dry by some cook in the walk-in.

Yup.

2. how the fuck can you pork a clam in the the butt

and not get shit all over your "cob?" like, seriously.

unless your bitch uses a porn-star cleanse beforehand....

Like I said, I'll only do it with girls I'm really dating, so I've only got experience with two girls, but neither time was shitty, either figuratively or literally

dude, the more and more i think about it, the more you should prolly blame yourself (to the dude that made this thread). if the service was good, and they had to take back the food, they prolly would of left a tip for you. but if the food AND service i bad, they prolly just left. dummy.
