Fake no, I do get you though. I hate when the flavors of beer are too on point then you find out it was injected with something artificial and not brewed with true ingredients.

It is slightly sweet but not over the top. The hops are very subtle and you cant sense the alcohol which is nice. Its oaky and the maple stands out. When I first read reviews people said that the aftertaste was horrible, but I didnt really dislike the aftertaste. Really I didnt get one. It was smooth. As the beer warmed a bit you did get the flavor of....I dunno its hard to say...I want to say meaty lol but not in a bad way. I mean it was different, Im glad I tasted it, but my socks are still on so I cant say I would drop 12 bucks for another. The price point is what keeps me from going back. Other than that I think it was a good beer.

i could drink this year round, for a gathering or just typical long day of work it's perfect, good with food good by itself, flavorful yet extremely drinkable..

This is also quite good. Brewed with the Westmalle yeast strain. Bang bang.

--My everyday beer that is always in the fridge is Lagunitas' good ol IPA.

Overdosing on pumpkin beers over here.

UFO pumpkin - par at best

Screaming Pumpkin - personal favorite, pumpkin pie taste

Unita Pumpkin - drinkable but a bit metallic tasting

Elysian Dark at the Moon - pumpkin stout, delicious, only pumpkin stout I've enjoyed

Jolly Pumpkin Parcela - pumpkin sour, great

New Belgium Kick - cranberry pumpkin sour, great

Picked up a case of the Woodchuck Pumpkin cider this week as well, it's completely sold out around here already.

Not bad at all, but it is a matter of personal taste. Because of the style, honey beers, or braggots, are higher alcohol content. They are generally not going to be as sweet as mead, or honey wine. I happen to like the Brother Adams and get it where I can. One of the better braggots I've had was actually by Magic Hat when they were a better brewery, not bad but not sure they still make it. Honey is also not cheap right now as an ingredient. If you ever end up in the Mass area I can suggest a locally brewed one that is good and will quickly take the wind out of your sails.

I really don't get how hyped up so many people get about pumpkin beers. Like talking about how they can't wait for em to hit the shelves and its only mid-July. How the fuck you going to be craving thick sweet ass beer, and its 100F in the shade.

The only pumpkin beer I have ever had that I enjoyed was a homebrewed pumpkin porter, that dude (friend of a friend) has not been able to replicate. Very subdued and subtle, I knew it was a familiar taste but I just couldn't put my finger on it until he told me.

In my experience shit is a gimmick/novelty at best. That being said, sophisticated drunkards of the oontz, prove me wrong. Provide recommendations, I have had Dogfish Heads, Shipyards, the Blue Moon piss, Sam Addams, and Buffalo Bills. What hidden gems am I passing up on due to my bias?

Buffalo Bills WAS good, long time ago. Of course Blue Moon is piss, look who owns them. I wouldn't expect much of Sam Adams either. I posted one a page or 2 ago that was good, think it was by Ipswich.

BTW, thick sweet ass beer in 100F has its place, hence Dragon Stout. Hard to drink a lot of that shit though- headache.
