DETO
has anyone on 12oz made the jump to high def yet? if so, what have you chosen? hd dvd? blu ray? both? why did you choose one over the other? or neither? i have blu ray and am thinking about getting a hd dvd in the near future. even though i'm still kinda hesitant about picking one up, because i think blu ray is going to eventually win the new gen format war. and why can't there be more high def channels on dish (and tv in general), we only have 29 hd channels (on dish). after getting used to watching games and tv shows in hd, it's hard to go back to watching standard definition tv. Magnum OPiss
Havent seen blu ray yet but if you love sports and your locals high def is pretty dope and yes I can tell the difference.
AyeBee
My Dad has high def on his bigscreen...shits NUTS. I didn't really see much of a difference til he flipped back and forth between Goodfellas on TNT and it on TNT-HD
DETO
oh yeah, there's a huge difference. i also have this awesome channel called RAVE on dish hd. it's an all music channel. unlike mtv, plays good music all day, and not horse shit videos, full lenght concerts in hd. it's awesome. MitchThe$nitch
I got bluRay via the PS3. movies are good. sports in HD has become a must for me personally. once you go hd, you never go back.
Theo Huxtable.
i only got blu-ray cuz i got a ps3. personally i don't care about high-def discs. i still mainly buy dvd's. they get up-converted to 1080p anyways -- and look good enough to me. i bought that show "blue planet" in blu-ray only because i know visuals is a huge part of that show. crank also looks great on blu-ray. terminator 2 on blu-ray is wack. just looks like an upconverted dvd. stick with the dvd on that one and i got hd cable... i'm actually paying less for hd cable than regular cable, because i took less channells (that i don't watch). all i need now is to invest in a better hometheater sound system

Quaranta-Due
Better be rocking 1080p nigga. BluRay looks like it's going to win this war, it's got a lot more backing it. Who knows though.

DETO
this is it, it's $3,199.99 i got it back in april on sale for $2,399.99 at best buy, i saw it there a few weeks ago on sale for $2,600. i love it, well worth the money. i was about to buy a 47in Philips with ambilight for $2,299.99, but then i saw the sharp on sale for only $100.00 more, and i have wanted a sharp for a while. Sharp or Sony are the way to go. so i jumped at it, when i saw it was pretty much the same price that i had wanted to spend.
AllTheWrongWords
Thanks dude. At least I got a number and brand in my head now. Ill probably be going with the blu-ray. I saw it at best buy combined with an hd tv. Shit was superb.

VAJ
The porno industry is the deciding factor on which will win. They have spoken. Blu Ray loses. ps. where the fuck is boogie?
DETO
i just read that one of the major porno companies just announced their first blu-ray title. i forget the name of the 'film' and the company. i'm pretty confident that blu-ray is going to win this war, granted it's still a few years away. but blu-ray will win. that being said, i still think i may purchase a hd dvd player sometime in the near future. there are quite a few Universal titles i'd love to upgrade.
