Dear @Schnitzel,

What up with this AUS bus that identifies as a train?  You never told us you had no shit like that before.

Dear @One Man Banned

ahhh the O-0bahn

They couldn't fit heavy rail into an area of my city so they built this track thing for the busses inspired by a city in Germany.

image.png.fd7aa10f5e233987b4ceaf98a5f5fd8d.png

I've only taken it once it's on the northside.
when i took it I took for express purpose of taking it.

It only goes for about 8 miles.

Adelaide's O-Bahn was introduced in 1986 to service the city's rapidly expanding north-eastern suburbs, replacing an earlier plan for a tramway extension. The O-Bahn provides specially built track, combining elements of both bus and rail systems. The track is 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) long and includes three interchanges at Klemzig, Paradise and Tea Tree Plaza. Interchanges allow buses to enter and exit the busway and to continue on suburban routes, avoiding the need for passengers to transfer to another bus to continue their journey. Buses can travel at a maximum speed of 100 km/h (60 mph), but are restricted to 90 km/h (55 mph). As of 2015, the busway carried approximately 31,000 people per weekday.[2] An additional section including a 670-metre (2,200 ft) tunnel opened in 2017 at the city end to reduce the number of congested intersections buses must traverse to enter the Adelaide city centre.[3]

The development of the O-Bahn busway led to the development of the Torrens Linear Park from a run-down urban drain into an attractive public open space. It has also triggered urban development around the north-eastern terminus at Modbury.

It doesn't look like it's actually on rails, more like a track I guess.  Does it feel like you're riding a train then?  They look pretty clean on the outside, guess no one hits them?

They are just suburban busses so are pretty hard to hit compared to trains.
The tracks are a bit like the paris metro with the tyres

if you look at the little headlights on the bumper bar at the front you'll see little roller sticking out at right angles just below.

that forces the bus to stay on the path. then at the end it just rolls off on to normal streets.

feels like a very fast bus that moves smoothly

the Obahn did have it's own little scene in the 80's but it's just part of the wider scene now.

Dear @MOOGLE?,

You're our resident cosplay "expert" so I have to ask you.  I see some social posts where people get costumed up and post my ________ cosplay.  I'm sure there's a range, but my ? is what's going on there?  Do they do all that just for a pic, then they're done and they take it all off?  Or do they go about their home pretending to be that character?  Are they regularly going out in character?  If possible please post some weirdo shit with your answer, because the oontz loves that shit.

Sincerely,

OMBeezy

Dear @One Man Banned,

it mostly stems from the myspace selfie era , then shifted onto other social media until it boomed onto the "perfect life fallacy " of instagram.

on the convention side the "my_____" posts just signify the character the person will be cosplaying as. the last 3 or so years its morphed into clout chasing ,influencer farming , and cosplay character gatekeeping.

pre mass social media ive actually posted about the lolcows in the nonsense thread with notable people such ass pixyteri , momo , and few others.

honestly its all somewhat adjacent to the makeup "look" community , that one of my exes was part of both so to answer the question some do straight up get all dressed in cosplay to do normal people shit like grocery shopping

Dear @LUGR,

I did when I lived in d.c. Maryland and went as barret from ff7, but that was like way back in 2000 . The other was as a generic action/horror protagonist .

Other than that naw I don't cosplay outside of going hard on Halloween costumes just for that day.

Sincerely elis das tres
