boner
For those of you who liked city of god, check out a documentary called "Bus 174". It's about a street kid who hijacks a city bus and takes hostages. It tries to show how the police and prison system are failures. Along the same lines, there is a doc about chechen rebels who overtake a moscow theatre, it used to play on HBO. Some amazing footage, it came out around 2003. Finally, mostly because william s. burroughs has a part.

Fondles
Yeah, SSFWS is ok..like you said, mixed feelings on it. Anyhow, Mammero, I watched Sword of Doom again, I haven't seen it in a couple years. Again, I recommend it. I almost forgot just how badass that movie is. Japanese is a tough language to learn, especially coming from English. My teacher says patience and everyday practice and I will master it. But i'm having slight doubts :(. H. Lecter
^^Don't listen to your teachers bullshit~ Japanese is not as hard as people make it seem... If you have already learned another language, it's just as simple.. The most difficult thing to get usto with Japanese is sentence structure.. There is no conjugation of verbs,no male or female tenses and no pronouns.. So once you have the vocabulary and have a feel for the rhythm of the language, all you need to do is force yourself to use it~ Japanese people are patient and sentences can be infinitely simplified~ And I'd rather be coming from English, especially American English, than from nearly every and any other European langauge... Imagine learning "Ra Ri Ru Re Ro" with a french accent... Umaku ikimatsu yoni~

imported_dowmagik
the new was one is decent, i purchased it. it doesnt have the rawness of the original, but it has a fair amount of blood and suffering. not to mention some blatant ass n boob (non nude) shots of jessica alba. I didn't know until after watching it that this was supposed to be a trilogy so when the end came up abrubtly (in a sick freeze-frame) I was in big WTF mode (lot of loose ends). Too bad the rest of the trilogy didn't get made, this was fucking sick.

Fondles
Yeah Mams, when i originally found out the rest wasn't made, I think I shed a tear. Dude was ill though wasn't he! Him and that older dude (that was pretty much just like him, but the "good" version) that had him shook were supposed to fight in the second one, I think. I ripped it and now I own it forever. Holler if you want a data copy.

Harvey Wallbanger
The City of Lost Children is ill... I reccomend getting the VHS if you can find it, 'cuz the subtitles are translated better. The DVD is still worthwhile, though. It's one of those movies you could just put on with some background music, it's shot so well.
