They be getting into my garden all the time lil punks

I was talking to my neighbor, over the fence style like home improvement, earlier today and he said that punk MF was kicked up in his chair in the garage a couple days ago. This fool is all kinda just making himself at home out here.

Heard Coyotes howling the other night at the layup, then today I was jogging and had on trying to race me, first time ever seeing one of those in the wild he was going to fast to flick it I'll try and have a camera more readily available next time. But now I'm under the suspicion I'm a prospect for the wolfs pack now ! 🙂

We have some activity going on on our back stairway. Just thought they were lil harmless busy bees because they have not caused a problem. But I needed to get closer so we can see what we were dealing with to understand the hive structure going on inside and how to deal with them.

they are not bees ha.

yellow jackets

we have been co habitating for about 6 months now so we just left them alone and everyone was minding their business. We  use these stairs multiple times a day and it’s right below where we sit on the patio. Just making sure the pups don’t try to eat those “spicy flying snacks”

pest guy visited to rid another nest nearby (they were prepping to paint) and I mentioned this one -he attempted but was too scared and really didn’t believe that we just leave them alone and vice versa.  They didn’t even bother the painters

how'd i miss this? crazy..

i believe these are bald-faced hornets.

Definitely

this nest was exposed in just this section of these shrubs.  Assuming they were discovered and had to develop a plan for removal.
have since walked past this shrub and looked for them and the section was again cut out and nest removed.

not the job I would like.

A topic that is carried over from last summer

SPOTTED LANTERN FLIES

they have been missing through the winter just waiting for the warmer months for the eggs to hatch. I have some pics of them at various stages. We are all waiting for natural predators to develop but in the mean time you gotta recognize them and stomp out these pests. They multiply quickly.
Through the winter and (if your spring is cold enough) you will see their eggs. They lay eggs and then cover them with a greyish substance that hardens to protect the eggs

if you see these it’s valuable to scrape them off a tree or object and smash the fuck outta them. ISO alcohol also dead’s them once the hardens substance is broken into.

Since I was home for so long last summer/fall I was able to mitigate them from infiltrating our home by catching them on our patio. I made this “spotted lantern fly sticky staff” and altered it each time I made one. Caught some flies and other types of critters. IMG_1757.thumb.jpeg.67459f2b242007e9ff6c954db9e9a8e1.jpeg

Posting all this now becaue it is a greet time to look for them egged and larvae hatching to eliminate before they are everywhere.
check your cars, travel equipment and all that. Remember to not take any wood across state lines-county lines, really.

once they make their way to California, the wine industry will get fucked because they also LOVE grapevines
