earl broclo ESQ
Damn --I hadn't heard about this one yet. This guy is one of those directors who was mainstream as fuck, but still so damn good. The late 80's were his cash cow, but his shit was always entertaining. 1. Curly Sue (1991) 2. Uncle Buck (1989) 3. She's Having a Baby (1988) 4. Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987) 5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) 6. Weird Science (1985) 7. The Breakfast Club (1985) 8. Sixteen Candles (1984) That isn't bad for a directorial filmography. Maybe Curly Sue isn't as much a staple in my teen years, but all those movies are hands down watchable Sunday afternoon couch flicks. He wrote and produced an independent film in the 1998. It was completely different from his earlier stuff, and had a damn good soundtrack. It's worth checking out, but it's nothing like his others. Harvey Wallbanger
He also wrote all of the National Lampoon's Vacation movies. And Home Alone. And no joke, Weird Science is one of my all time favorite movies.

earl broclo ESQ
I just watched "Weird Science" a couple months ago, for the first time in probably 15+ years. That movie is fucking timeless, no matter how corny the kids dressed. It looks like he wrote under a ghost name in the late 90's/2000's (Edmond Dantes). 1. Drillbit Taylor (2008) (story) (as Edmond Dantes) 2. Beethoven's 5th (2003) (V) (characters) (as Edmond Dantes) ... aka Beethoven's 5th: Big Paw (USA) 3. Maid in Manhattan (2002) (story) (as Edmond Dantès) ... aka Made in New York (USA: poster title) 4. Home Alone 4 (2002) (TV) (characters) ... aka Home Alone: Taking Back the House (USA: DVD title) 5. Beethoven's 4th (2001) (V) (characters) (as Edmond Dantès) 6. Just Visiting (2001) (screenplay) ... aka Les visiteurs en Amérique (France) 7. Beethoven's 3rd (2000) (V) (characters) (as Edmond Dantès) Looks like paychecks to me. Getting his money, good for him. I'm sure his family is set for life. Hell the royalties off his 80's work could buy Laos.
