Yeah it more so snakes and varmints. Can also be used as a warning shot for large animals but not going to do much from afar. Would probably have to get point blank "head shot" to harm a large animal. I mean they pack a punch, kinda like a .357 or 40 cal maybe. It's been a while since I shot one but it was a shotgun style.
