Mark Gagan said today. "To be shot so many times and survive, the person is extremely lucky," Gagan said. Police received a call reporting at shooting at 7:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of Tulare Avenue in the city's North and East Clinton neighborhood. When officers arrived, they found that the victim had been shot more than a dozen times in the upper torso and extremities with a large-caliber firearm, Gagan said. The man was in critical condition when he was transported to a local hospital, but doctors were able to stabilize him. He has since come out of surgery and although he remains in critical condition, doctors are saying today they think he will survive, Gagan said. "A nurse with 40 years of experience in emergency care said it was the most amazing thing she'd seen," Gagan said. Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting, and the gunman is still outstanding. what a piss poor fucking shot. how do you shoot someone 12 fucking times and not kill them? its harder to be trying to aim to miss the vital organs too and not kill them. The shooting happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Street and Macdonald Avenue when someone in a car opened fire at a group of people, police Lt. Mark Gagan said. The woman was struck in the thigh and her grandson was hit in the foot as they were walking near their church, Gagan said. The bullets were intended for someone else, police said. No arrests have been made. At about 7:15 p.m. Monday, a 22-year-old San Pablo man was shot more than a dozen times in the chest and arms on the 3500 block of Tulare Avenue in Richmond but survived, Gagan said. The man's name wasn't released, and no arrests have been made. At about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Nicholas Martin, 24, was shot and killed near the corner of South 20th Street and Maine Avenue. A suspect in the slaying, a 17-year-old El Cerrito High School student, was arrested Tuesday. His name was withheld because of his age. Police said the shooting happened an hour after two women fought at South 17th Street and Maine, several blocks away. The 17-year-old boy is a cousin of one of the women, and Martin was the other woman's boyfriend. i seriously hope cake is involved in some of this.
