blahh Posted September 21, 2009 Share Posted September 21, 2009 if there is nothing wrong with the derailleurs i would definitely NOT convert to ss. Adjusting/replacing cables is really easy and cheap. I'm the type of person who sees no point in ever converting anything to single speed though. For sure though, brake pads first, then tires i'd say if everything shifts and spins alright. I don't know where you live, but be aware that steel rims are not good for stopping in the rain. Soup Posted September 21, 2009 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Soup, you're looking for a saddle that takes care of certain kind of issues like numbness or what? I just switched over to the Specialized Toupe a while back and it took care of all my riding issues. It's a great saddle.Not saying that I get this, but a FRIEND OF MINE can get saddle rash and hemorrhoids from HIS current road saddle. HE used to be able to ride 120 miles on a track saddle, now HE's riding 50 on a mountain bike. Not exactly fun to talk about, and I dont think anyone else needs to worry about that happening to them because nobody else has ridden for 8 hours on a bmx saddle before, but that's HIS current medical situation.
