for me i can say ive developed a high tolerance to spicy edibles, so what may sound mouth-burnin hot to some of you could result in me not being affected by the spice at all.

each pepper or spice has its own unique flavor and can do wonders for a dish, I try my best to savor the good ones.

CURRY SALMON

2zr2j9j.jpg

Serve salmon over rice pilaf with a side of asparagus dripped in lemon butter

boneless salmon for two

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 shallots, finely chopped

3 cloves of crush garlic

a pinch of cayenne pepper

2 medium tomatoes, diced

3 tablespoons of curry (be sure it is fresh for the best flavor)

1 pint of light cream

salt and pepper to taste

1 box of Near East rice pilaf, original mix

Prepare the rice as per the range top directions.

Salmon: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shallots and garlic, stirring until soft. Add cayenne pepper and tomatoes. Stir ingredients; cooking for about 2-3 minutes. Add curry powder and cream, stir until well blended. Add two - three salmon pieces, skin down. Spoon the mixture over the salmon. There should be enough sauce to come at least 1/2 of the way up the sides of the salmon. Lower the heat to medium-low and cover tightly. Let simmer for 5 - 10 minutes or until salmon is cook to your liking. Test with a fork. Spoon mixture over the salmon from time to time.

Plating the Dish

Place a 1/2 cup or 1 cup of rice on each dish. Place a piece of salmon on each plate next to the rice. Pour the sauce over the fish and the rice. Serve with a green vegetable. While this salmon dish is fast and easy to make, it is quite impressive in flavor and will have your amore whispering sighs of adoration in your ear.

i just made this it came out really good, using a curry that is spicier than yellow curry would be ideal. also, my presentation could have been a lot better :D

Korean Spicey Pan Fried Squid

Yedang+Korean+Restaurant-10.JPG

Awesomely good and spicy

This looks delicious.

I'm a big fan of spicy, but its gotta be a good flavor of spicy. I'll eat some killer hot shit, but only if it actually tastes good. I'm not big on the retardedly spicy shit that has no real value besides the bragging factor. I'm sure you all know or have been to some spot that has some ridiculous hot wings that you get a tshirt or some bullshit f you can eat them. That shit is dumb.

The amazingly spicy sauces that can roast your mouth even with a tiny bit on a toothpick can be great for mixing in with other things if they have a good flavor though. Tiny bit mixed in with another sauce and you get some of the kick and the flavor without burning out your tastebuds.

See this I like ^^^ add a bit to anything and it gives great heat but doesn't lose taste. Very rarely do I come across a good dish with great HEAT and great TASTE and FLAVOR.

On a side note being that I'm making my own wine I actually came across a reciepe for a wine made entirely of peppers. It seemed questionable but the guy said that certain people could enjoy a glass but he brought up the cooking aspect and that sounded awesome. Imagine a good wine reduction made from pepper wine or a buerre rouge sauce. Tasty.

i grow cherry peppers, hungarians, jalepenos, and serranos. i got 2 of each except the hungarians. so many peppers. i too agree with the people saying that there is to spicy. i like to enjoy my food taste and flavor wise. if its to hot then that's all you get. and to me capsaicin doesn't taste good to me. also i think this should be changed to chili peppers anonymous since like home dude said that pretty much is all that is going on in here.

ghost chili anyone??

I was thinking about growing a few jalapeno plants I'll go buy some seeds tomorrow any hints/tips on growing them?

They are SUPER easy to grow as long as the temps range between the low 40's at night and the upper 90's in the day. I realize no place but the desert really has both those numbers on the thermometer in a day but I'm saying they will do fine across that range. They produce best the second time they flower so don't pull them up after they have their first 'hiatus'... after that production drops off and you should re-plant. They also have a lot of the same pests and diseases as tomatoes so you should grow in containers or bounce them around your yard. They do fine in full shade (warm temps ONLY) all the way to full sun. This actually applies to all peppers, I encourage you to plant a few varieties. I go heavy on the jalapenos because I eat them like candy. There's a Mexican dude at the farmers market who sells 50 'jalapenitos' for 2$ and I walk around and shovel them down like popcorn.

there is such a thing as too hot for me tho. Kills the flavor of the food.

I absolutely agree. I like the sinus clearing WOOF of a single shot thing but, in a meal, I like a heat that builds. Something you don't really notice until you finish the plate and realize you're sweating a little... and you wish you had a full beer. I learned my spicy from the cajuns and the way they make a pile of crawfish.Yeah, crawfish. I don't say 'crayfish, crawdads or mud bugs' (I DO suck da heads... no homo, but there would be no need for that if it weren't for all these yankees and left coasters)...

Thai can be too hot but if it's those peppers I can't tell when I eat just a pepper. I really dig that chinese yellow mustard they give you with egg/spring rolls. I can eat that out of the packet. I've won a few bets eating that (or it's watery weaker cousin the Taco Bell 'fire sauce' also, money to be made with Arby's horsey sauce, or just straight hosreradish, but only the most brave should apply for the last one )... which leads me to another quandry of mine. Around here we call it the 'ring of fire' in honor of Johnny Cash. I don't get it, I mean, I understand what these folks are trying to say but it doesn't happen to me, is that just some weak asshole talk? I dunno...

i used to grow peppers at home; hungarian hot wax,

Love the hot wax, got some in a variety pack a few year ago that also included Banana peps... so, spotty germination and not really knowing I got what I thought were humungous bannanas, hotter, more complex...

lets not forget about curries

I like curries but I tend to have a reaction if it's too hot. Not the afforementioned 'ring of fire' but just an immediate and explosive reaction. It's no fun to sweat on the toilet. Some kids I know call it the 'curry butt', however, I call it the 'wind sprints'.

curry is an iffy spice, sometimes i do fine with it either being spicy as fuck or mild but i will say it doesnt happen immediately its usually the next morning and quite possibly again in the afternoon.

how the fuck did you notice that?

*edit. nevermind i guess its obvious when you look at it..... why the fuck were you lookin at her knee?

shadows like the face of mars, my dude

& since childhood, ive always thought elbows & knees were one of the least attractive parts on people

if i did have a knee fetish, it wouldnt be with her & i find most redhead girls fairly attrative. maybe its because shes not a natural redhead trying to be one

this one resembles a burlesque tranny with a steam-rollered face

related: i tried tandori chicken for the firs time a few weeks ago & shit was off the hook

I went out to dinner with my folks tonight and had some awesomely spicy Thai food. I forget what the dish was called, but it was mussels, scallops, shrimp, squid, two kinds of eggplant and some yellow curry sauce of some sort. I told the waitress i wanted it really hot and she laughed and asked if i was sure. It was really spicy but not so much so that it burned my pallet, and had a great flavor. My dad tried it though and it was way too much for him. Its always weird how something can be completely delicious and not overly spicy for me, but kill someone else. They also did it up right and it wasn't just a huge amount of pepper flakes that overpowered the flavor of everything else. I still got all the great tastes of the seafood, but with the added deliciousness of spicy flavor. It cleared out my stuffy nose nicely.

Got a good recommendation for an indian spot too, so hopefully i'll be checking that out in the next week or two and seeing what sort of heat and flavor they have to offer. I don't have much experience with indian food, but everything i've tried so far, i've enjoyed. Last indian spot i went to, i had some dish with big pieces of cheese that was made in house, chunks of lamb, and some sort of curry sauce. I'm terrible at remembering the names of indian/asian dishes though, so i usually end up trying something new every time, which is always good.

Also, i need to find a korean spot that has that spicy squid that random posted. I fucking love squid and octopus.

Get one man you wont be disappointed, they are the business. Great mixed with anything really (like pasta and such for a cheap meal) They are also appetite stimulators to get the tastebuds going. The chilli and the mango ones are dope as well.
