Is it just state law where there's really not a good reason behind it or something like sea turtles lay eggs? In texas you can drive on the beaches in areas allowed. But there are spots along the Texas coast that are off limits due to sea turtles laying eggs in certain spots that may be a few miles long at most. But pretty much you can park on the beach and camp if you'd like. So I am guessing there's good reasoning behind Massachusetts coastline laws? Honestly, it does seem convenient to have your car on the beach, but the sand and time it takes to clean the interior is a pain. You really never get the sand out of the carpet.
