so last week was excruciatingly painful, but the good painful. im about healed up this week but i have an acute soreness in my right elbow.

about a year and a half ago i tore a tendon in my right arm (still unsure how). the hand specialist i went to said it was an extreme case of chronic tennis elbow. at first it was a very sharp pain, but the less i used the are the less it would hurt and the pain would became dull, then about month ago it seemed to have vanished. well i went to the gym 3x last week and i feel like its slightly returned. i skipped yesterday but im going back tomorrow. anyone have a similar experience?

any suggestions?

im saying!

i thought it might be a 5k (3 miles)...or a 10k (6 miles).

the only way i could do a 26 mile marathon is run the first 2 miles...have someone pick me up in a car and drive me the next 23 miles and then drop me off somewhere so i could run the last mile so nobody thinks i cheated.

I give props to people that can bang out a 26, no doubt... but running for your knees and joints and body in general, if you are a dude that's not ethiopian status, and you're like 180 plus, it's taxing on the body... This is why I ride bikes.... For bigger build guys man, not as harsh on everything...

yeah, this is very true. swim all day also.. swimming's probably the most beneficial of any exercise you could do

the first day of cross country training we ran a 10k. the coach told us at the informational meeting wed be "starting at about 1.8 miles to get you used to running for the first week". needless to say, it thinned out the team quite a bit.

now we only do 2-4 miles with a workout afterwards.

its kind of interesting though, im halfway imbetween a runners build and a lifters build (6', 155lbs) so every other sport ive played ive always been one of the weakest. the first time we lifted weights as a team, i outlifted everyone except for the kid in ROTC. and he only had me beat in pushups and squat because hes like 4 feet tall.(coach had us do basically every excersize to failure. except for squats and bench obviously)

that being said, i cant run for shit. but im blaming that on riding my bike 8 miles to the practices every day for now.

dead lift, barbell and dumbbell row (check out 'kroc rows' on youtube) chins.

another move to really crush your upper back is a high rack pull/pin pull. whatever you want to call it. set the power rack so the bar rests at your knees. perform a dead lift from this point. really targets your upper back

dead lift is the one, if you could find a GHD machine you can do back extensions on that it will help your back immensely, but dont forget to do abs or you'll have your lower back muscles pulling down on ya haha and vice versa.

Yeah

It's just to say I did it and to accomplish something I guess.

good shit man....good luck.

after reading your post about the 26 miles, i started looking up some marathons in my city.

theres a 5k in about 2 and a half months....im already jogging about 2 miles....i might consider training for the 5k...just gotta work on pace....go from a 9 minute mile pace to a 7 minute mile pace.
