Re: Great Pictures~

is that christopher anderson's photographs?

Where are those previous 3 photos from, Leland Palmer? I have seen the 3rd somewhere before.

They're by a guy called Simon Wheatley, from a series of photos about kids in London from 01 to 05 (http://todayspictures.slate.com/inmotion/simon/). Well worth a watch. He's done similar projects in France but it's quite hard to find them, he doesn't seem to have a website and isn't represented by magnum anymore aparently.

Pretty useless to post this here since the page is fucked by those huge pictures

but anyway

In the lower left portion of this image, the Earth can be seen, as well as the much smaller Moon to Earth's right.

When MESSENGER took this image, a distance of 183 million kilometers (114 million miles) separated the spacecraft and Earth.

To provide context for this distance, the average separation between the Earth and the Sun is about 150 million kilometers (93 million miles).

Re: Great Pictures~

There is a huge scandal surrounding that wolf photo.

Apparently the photo won a wildlife photography contest but they later decided to disqualify the photographer.

The wolf was a domesticated wolf that a farmer took care of and would rent out to photographers/videographers (somewhere in Spain I think).

Some of the other photographers in the contest referred back to their own shots of said domestic wolf and identified it.

Showed proof to the judges and got dude banned, the prize money for the contest was huge also, they took it back.

So basically the shot is kinda fake, it is a wolf jumping a fence but more like a studio type shot, all set up and choreographed.
