murder? - Terry Schiavo ordeal

We are world reknowned for our arrogance. And if you really think about it, we are inculcated with this belief from birth... We are the best, we are the best....

If we were more realistic about it we would understand that we have been trending downwards... but if we don't believe it how can we fix it?

bodice - in the case of a "persistent vegetative state," you're

absolutely right that the choice would be her husbands. but,

if she is NOT in that state (which is what I'm claiming) he

doesn't have the choice to go pulling the plug.

or... at least he shouldn't, and wouldn't if the court-appointed

doctors had been on the same page as the neurologist.

I don't care what state she's in. Me & some guys from work were talking about this the other day and were hoping that somebody would just waltz into her hospital room and put a few 9mm rounds through her head.

KILL THE FUCKING COMATOSE BITCH.

We would have heard nothing about this if we weren't fighting a pointless war right now. They've got to find something to distract the public's attention.

The problem with that report is that its absolutely right IN 1990 , Her condition has gotten PROGRESSIVELY WORSE in the last 15 years. And none of those things are current or correct . If you look at different pictures of her over the last 15 years you can SEE the decline in her brain function .

"The following information is taken from Dr. Examination Report on Terri Schiavo, on 12 September 2002. Dr. Hammesfahr is a Nobel Prize nominated doctor who specialises in the diagnosis and rehabilitative therapy of brain-injured patients."

[/b]

Homie, Hammesfahr is bullshit. He goes around saying that he was nominated for the "nobel peace prize in medicine" when no such thing exists.

pffft. of WHICH neurologist? My understanding that the majority are of the opinion she is in a vegetative state...

Anyway, like I said - marriage is a legally binding contract, which she entered before becoming a plant. She chose to give this decision to her husband....

Hammesfahr. You know, that guy I posted an article about on

the first page.

Nekro - That quackwatch site (at least for Hammesfahr) is all

Dr. Novella's opinion. His whole criticism is full of holes.

***And regardless of whether or not you don't like his methods, his

findings are clear and undeniable.

Your a retard and your rude as shit.

I dont think fighting a war for oil is pointless. All wars are fought for something- even if it may be just for the presidents benefit. What the fuck are you complaining about anyways, your not in the military, your not in Iraq fighting, it does not affect you...soooo SHUT THE FUCK UP.

IMO, Why should you feel good or bad? Why should you even consider it? Are you a relative? Let's face it...the only reason any of us are aware of it is that her parents can't let go, and some politicians tried to make a name for themselves while taking advantage of other people's suffering, but yes, i do believe the family should let her pass on.

I want you to stop being a moron.

She's brain dead and not coming back. She told her husband that she didn't want to be kept alive, and her husband is the person that's responsible for her. That's what happens when you get married: you become responsible for your spouse.

I don't see what the big deal is.

Holy shit this lady was bulimic and did this to herself? I thought she was in a car accident or something.

is this true? if so didn't know that and it makes her situation a little more fucked up then i orignally thought.

the sad part about this whole ordeal is it happens more often then you think. i work in a nursing home and see things like this every now and again. it even happened somewhat close to my family. no idea why this specific case is so important.

personally i feel what the hustband is doing is right, as i said i work in a nursing home and have to deal with people like this all the time. i understand how her parents "love" her, but honestly i wouldn't want anyone i loved to be in this situation, or be forced to live ln it for the rest of their lives.

If I take this personally I feel different about it.

But I still think that's a fucked up way to die.

The majority of public opinion polls show that people believe it's none of the governments business meddling with their medical affairs. Which is essentially a conservative position. A position adopted by both the right and left amongst the people. It just goes to show you that once you get outside all the political drama, media circus, and propaganda, we are not so different as a people after all.

im sorry, i know all of you feel very strongly about this, i on the other hand

have become pretty desensitized to anything that i do not see personally...

and i am really not affected either way by what happens to this woman.

although seeing how long someone can live on machines interests me.

I love how republicans are trying to paint her husband as a murderer. Like somehow he's trying to get away with murder by removing her feeding tube. I don't think republicans understand how painful this must be for him. Not only in the fact that he lost his wife, but that her brainless body has been inside his house for the last 15 years. Her parents have been trying without success to wake her up, and i'm sure her mother is a little fruity right now. It's a crazy situation that needs to end. They cannot center their lives around a half-dead woman that left this earth 15 years ago. It's over, it's not murder, and she's going to die by gods hand.

Actually, they offered to take custody and care for her.

And they're around her now constantly, even though this is the

worst she could possibly get. Nice try though.

Fatalist - Michael Schiavo is a scumbag, regardless of whether

or not he's letting her die. Read up on it.

They are delaying the inevitable. They claim letting her die of thirst/hunger is cruel and unusual. Which is more cruel, leaving her in her vegatative state, letting her brain liquify and have her slowly die..... or ... remove a feeding tube which is her only lifeline, and its debatable whether she will even feel the affects at all?
