MayorMeanBeans
Been a while since I posted. A couple random street shots. These kids took a pvc pipe, put a balloon on the end of it, loaded the balloon with rocks and it became kind of like a sling shot as they pulled the balloon back. shit was crazy The American Trade Hotel was a working class hotel for much of the 20th century, before Noriega took it over and gave it to poor supporters to live in. The govt. was not a very good landlord, and quickly, everyone who could leave, did, and it became home to one of the city's most notorious gangs, Los Hijos Prodigales (The Prodigal Sons), and their customers. They were kicked out a couple years ago, the first time cops had entered the building in years, but the graffiti still remains: A view of the building from a multi-million dollar penthouse apartment. A room that looked like it was a torture chamber of some sorts Inside - Prison = Terrorism. Diabolical Dolls. Diana, submerge me in the sea of your forgetfulness/I can't forget you my love. Kill or be Killed/LHP=Al Qaeda/NC (North Carolina haha)/Police brutalizing fools/etc. LHP roll call. Normally i feel like this would be a stop snitching situation, but seeing as the cops were too scared to go in while it was a new jack city sort of drug den, i guess no harm was done. Sorry to blow up the thread.
MayorMeanBeans
Went to the countryside to photograph a marathon. Started out fun enough, but then an old dude died and two people got lost on the mountain in the middle of a thunderstorm: This is the guy that had a heart attack. Kind of weird to have taken the last picture of someone's life. The director of the marathon frantically 'points' the direction where the guy collapsed as she spoke to an ambulance. Pre-columbian Rap Letters. the rain comes. Once the rain really starts, they realize that two guys are still on the mountain. Here, one of the directors talks to emergency personnel to figure out where to find them. Shookup, but saved. Sidenote - DAT ASS:

MayorMeanBeans
Went to Roberto 'Hands of Stone' Duran's gym that he practiced as at a kid, in the hoodest of hoods. Unfortunately, no boxers were there so I have to go back tomorrow. That neighborhood keeps me shook: Some random street shots: That's one of the Los Hijos Prodigales' sons, dude is in jail for life. Former LHP, Can't decide which of these I like better - Mercer the wack burning and dodging is all yours.

wafflecakee
forest fires from the province over have sent a buttload of smoke into our air. in some cities it's so bad that the smokey air is setting off fire alarms... this is a train bridge that was built in 1909, in the middle it reaches 314 feet high, 96 meters and is 1.6 km's long. taken with an XTi the other day my friends and I took plastic that's usually used to cover insulation in unfinished houses and made a slip and slide. We used dish soap and some water and hit mach speed. taken with a yashica t2
EastHastings
i wish that there was more manual and film photography in here. its a shame that it is almost regressed into history instead of active media. i understand the evolution of media, but i am sure we can all agree that film hones much more artistic value rather than a high-contrast, high-megapixel point-and-shoot. /end rant
