the online comic readers i know just steal their stuff... one of my friends dl's a few gig of comics a week... i stopped buying comics some time ago, and i'm all the better for it. i only follow a few series now, goon, conan, and powers... i only pay like 10 a month for these, no reason to go online...

seeking--def start with kitchen confidential. that book is full of goodness. and i think its more accessible/easy to relate to for those who haven't spent their lives in kitchens. to everyone concerned about him being a dick/snob--go to any restaurant with any notoriety and find a chef that isn't that way. a kitchen is a horrible organism that you have to beat into shape to make it function as you want it to. once you've been in kitchens long enough, especially as long as him you simply are that way. when you say something should be a certain way--a color, a swirl, texture, sauce, doneness... whatever it might be--its because you've done it so many thousands of times that you KNOW for a fact it has to be that way.
