Doubt it's even going through their mind. Perhaps in hindsight, but in real time. Very unlikely. Most of the people I know that have even caused injuries while playing (breaking legs, fingers etc) bragged about it. Paralyzing someone would probably be a different story though. But, what about being the guy that "ended Warner's career". You think he might say that a few times if he does happen to retire. Oh yeah, and Celek got destroyed.
