thanks to mercer and chupa for the actual useful info.

i did my extensive research last night and i'm pretty sure on which i'm gonna get.

Best bit of advice i have for you, and everyone else for that matter: Read the manual front to back, at LEAST once in the first few days/weeks after you get the camera. Then carry it in your bag whenever you go out shooting until you know and have used any and every option you might ever want. Nothing sucks more than being in a situation where you have a great photo opportunity and later realizing you didn't know about something that could've helped you out.

Also, automatic functions can be handy in some situations, but try to shoot full manual as much as you can. Autofocus is useful as hell, but nothing is more infuriating than seeing/talking to someone with a nice camera who shoots on full auto and doesn't understand what difference the aperture makes on their photos.

Speaking of film, I got two more rolls developed today, with two more due tomorrow. Shit's getting expensive. Luckily I got a rewards card today haha.

I shot one roll with ASA 100 and nearly all of my photos are very light on the right side of the photograph. It's especially noticeable in the dog shot. I've heard something about a light leak, but all my other rolls seem to be fine. Anyone know what the problem could be?

you sir are an epic photographer

Watch as I fuck up the formatting of the page with this pano of bizarre train equipment... sorry about the bad stitch, photoshop couldn't seem to figure out how to put these images together for some reason so I had to do it the old fashioned way.

Used the eraser tool on the softest setting in photoshop to blend the edges of overlapping layers in the right places, shot them all with a manual lens and the same exposure on each so the color would be the same. Had to scale and rotate a few but I basically walked along the tracks at the same distance and shot with a lens which has very low distortion. Other than that about 30 minutes of photoshop work. I think the original is a 30,000x3200 file.

Now I wish I had a large format printer that took roll paper so I could make a 12.5' x 1.25' print of it.
