spotted some newly hatched i stars in June then quickly jumping black ones that turn red this is a zoom in type flik. All them lil black dots are SLF this store front was covered with them last night found full adults in large gatherings (lined up on the brach) The drops you see are their poop (honeydew) I saw 1 adult in our borough last summer. I saw hundreds last night.

No. No idea why “lantern” is in the name. Didn’t google that far ha they are just fucking gross they jump and fly. Not harmful to humans but aren’t reluctant to post up on you either. Last summer is when we first saw them here and because of those large egg masses we are fucking covered in them. I’ll round up some pics. (Helps for reporting also) all you can do is step on them. Or by placing an empty water bottle over them and letting them jump in. That is if your aim is good and quick and want to gather them to dispose of them some other way besides crushing them. And yes. They love an incredibly invasive tree. Tree of heaven. And grapevines!

Def not an issue for you. When I first heard of it in like 2019 it was in only 4 counties in PA Eastern PA. these fuckers are everywhere now here in western PA. whoever gets the report of them-it gets handled quickly by removing whole “host” trees. The only way to kill them is manually

Plants are looking great! Those roots are gonna be just fine! Some root pruning here and there isn’t the worst thing Especially on maturing plants. idk if we ever talked this product but get this product roots love it at a 1:200 mix (Zerotol:water) can be sprayed directly on algae covered roots. Cleans tanks and lines as well!! It’s basically hydrogen peroxide. once you’re confident your nutrition is stable pluck off those lower fans. That’s gonna tall the plant to depend on you for nutrients and not it’s lower growth.

V cool find. If you can capture blooms get flix of those too!! unless it’s bloomed already

I agree wholeheartedly people like me are repeatedly attracted to this type (maybe not complete psychopaths, but definitely the narcissistic type who know how to sway that graphic) after all my mental breakdowns and breakthroughs I’ve learned that setting boundaries and keeping balance is what is gonna work best for me. stopping this scale at the green marks (my boundaries) eliminates the extreme highs and lows that cause that imbalance.
