Ko SprueOne
Those Hogs are badass. I thought they were being replaced by some sht that nobody in the military wanted. If fact, they didn't want to replace the A-10 at all.
Dirty_habiT
I agree, I can't believe they were even considering it..... that's like one of the most bad ass planes ever. My brother was deployed in Kyrgyzstan for a few years and he said every time you could hear those engines in the A-10s coming you knew someone was fixin to get fucked up. It was mostly snipers in the mountains and people shooting mortars at night time. The thing is literally a flying support for the GAU-8 Avenger. They can fly slower than many jets, they can take tighter turns, and they can absolutely wreck tanks/armored vehicles with the gun they carry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-8_Avenger
Mercer
The Brrrrrrrrrrrrt is no joke, not to mention they also deploy precision ordinance like guided bombs/hellfire missiles. TBH I'd rather take a missile, or bomb strike if I was sitting in an enemy tank than be pierced by 65/70 of those giant armored tank piercing machine gun rounds per second. Mercer
Also, built to take hits and keep flying like nothing else. A thick titanium bathtub protects the pilot and makes sure they make it home. 1
Dirty_habiT
The videos I've seen of it shooting stuff with the guns make it look like the rounds are exploding, but I cannot tell if that's just stuff "exploding" from the kinetic energy. Definitely will melt steel easily or turn concrete structures into flying chunks of rock easily. You're in very real danger inside a building even if you don't get hit w/ the bullet itself because of this. Example: Yep, holy crap.... right after 35 seconds, just destruction. There's no way anything is living for long after that if it wasn't killed instantly. I remember this video from a long time ago when I first fell in love with that aircraft. Amazing engineering and I'm glad we have those in our arsenal.

misteraven
Rather have a Accuracy International AXMC 338 Lapua Magnum. In fact its on my wish list along with the conversion kit to .308 so I dont need to spend $7 a trigger pull to shoot the thing. http://www.accuracyinternational.us/ax-rifle-systems/

Dirty_habiT
^^That is bad ass!! I like long range weapons and the skill required to use them. I have a friend that got 3rd place in the country for sniping in some contest they do with Marines. He has the medals. Well shit.... I was referring to the sniper gun on the last page. Decyferon
I respect like the Normandy guys and the 2nd world war vets, but anything after that is your job choice and not doing anything good.
Hua Guofang
There was conscription after WWII though - Korea and Vietnam, for instance.
Mercer
Even though I disagree with the overall idea of fighting those wars there. There are people serving right now, and have served in Afgan, Iraq etc. that have my deepest respect as individuals. A conscript, a fighter pilot, even lowly infantrymen are often times presented with opportunities to risk their own lives in combat situations, in an effort to save others, or to take out bad actors before they kill innocents again, and they do the right thing. This is happening globally almost every day and we don't even know. I just dole out respect to individuals based on their actions, not automatically for general groups like veterans. My point is you can still be a hero in a situation you have no control over. There are turds, and great people in all wars.
