publicenemyno.3
I have twice. We've had the pitcher for 2 years. Every once in a while I ask my wife to buy a new one and she ignores me.
!@#$%
the one i use at work gets replaced about every 6 months i got a bulk pack at costco so i'm better at keeping up with it than i was when i was a youngun i have a whole house water filter that gets replaced when we have a marked decrease in water pressure, about every 4-6 months. seeing it dirty usually convinces anyone who hasn't seen one to immediately install a whole house water filter. (meaning, even in the shower i am drinking filtered water.)

Inappropriate_Responder
Boiling water will eradicate a good proportion of all parasites and is often the easiest way to purify water, although it should be noted that the hepatitis A virus needs a full minute of boiling to eradicate. Realism
^ I've replaced it like once in a year. I don't care. I'm in NYC, the tap water is delicious. I just keep it in the pitcher so it gets really cold in the fridge.

My dad had a place in Wilmington for awhile and the water was like that. He said it was because the water was soft, but I live in Charlotte and we don't have this problem. Also never had it in North Houston when I lived there so idk just depends on your spot.

5amshift
Tap water in a nalgene bottle per vida This. At work I usually fill the whole 32oz bottle 2-3 times and I'm good. At home I'll fill it up another 1-2. Brita filters for me don't last the whole time they're supposed to.
Gat Bush
I gave up and just refill a gallon jug that I bought at Walgreens for $2. Then again, I do live in New Yawk and the water is pretty good. Down with fracking in NY!

ink face
#nofilter[/url] All day. Only reason i'd ever have a brita filter would be to always have refrigerated water on deck. Putting it in jugs gives it that shitty plastic taste.
Walid Jumblat
The water where I live has a bit of a chlorinated taste to it and the filter removes that nicely...., no plastic taste either.
