eviltrailer77
have you had the hop ottin' ipa? light, flora aroma, hoppy....easily one of my go to ipas. Anderson Valley is consistently one of my favorites, the Boont amber ale never disappoints... but that cream shit is just yuck.
john_gacy
Drinking this now, Life and Limb by Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head, 10.2%, not sure if anyone has posted it before. My opinion, if you like Dogfish Head you'll probably like it. I'm not a fan of theirs and will blame them for this being mediocre, as I like Sierra, and their other colabos have been decent. It's an ale brewed with birch and maple syrups, neither of which I find too detectable here in terms of their individual distinctive flavors. Maybe I taste it a little now as I try to think about it, but I've already finished off most of a 22. For being 10.2%, the taste of alcohol is fairly mellowed out though. anything goes
You drinking Life and Limb #1 or #2? I'd be interested in trying a 2 year old Life and Limb #1. I had the wood aged Life and Limb last fall on draft and really enjoyed it. It sounds like they've made a lot more beer on the second go of this, I had to go to the Dogfish Head brew pub to track this down last year. anything goes
just bought tickets to a Goose Island beer dinner. I still like their beers besides the fact that they're now owned by AB InBev
mackfatsoe
^Have you guys noticed a price change since they were bought by inbev?? Goose island shit doesnt often come around my way, but I saw a couple bottles recently and they were cheaper than I remembered.....just curious

john_gacy
Packed a bit of a punch, but not feeling it. I've had other brews with maple that were better, and am def a fan of (the nonalcoholic) birch beer, which has good flavor, just didn't feel it coming through in that. Drinking this now, I may have posted it before, might have liked it, might have hated it, but right now it's not that great.

Newer Bigger Better
Uh.... How much does it taste like Anchor Steam?
john_gacy
Couldn't say honestly, it's been a long time since I had it. I tend to go for their Small beer in the 22 when I buy their beer these days, and usually buy the Xmas beer once in the season. It really reminded me of any of the Six Point brews, which you probably won't find much outside the New England area.
Newer Bigger Better
The point is that that bottle and label looks EXACTLY like Anchor Steam.

Newer Bigger Better
My local brew pub is in their pumpkin brew season. I can pick you up a pack and send it if you want? Lemme know. They are pretty well known for it.
anything goes
The point is that that bottle and label looks EXACTLY like Anchor Steam. Why wouldn't the bottle and label look like anchor steam  I like the Anchor Liberty Ale, Christmas is OK and the Steam Beer is a classic in my opinion. I know I've had the Humming Ale at some point but can't really remember what it tasted like. So I'm leaving the confines of the East Coast and heading to Astoria Oregon for the weekend, never been to that part of the US, unfortunately I'll only be there for 72 hours...can I really walk into any beer store and find Russian River beers? Any suggestions on beer bars up there? If I had it my way I'd spend the weekend in Portland but it's not gonna work out like that. Oh and we just got this on draft, I love this beer but refuse to drink any pumpkin/spice/winter beers until it's colder outside
smallmiracles
This is what I've been drinking for the last three months: I guess result of my stay in Germany. I can't wait to go back to having Kopparberg Strawberry Cider (blush).
mackfatsoe
Still never had a pumpkin brew. Working on it. I was a little blasted last night, but this hit the spot like no other. I'd say the southern tier or the dogfish head pumkin beer are the two you should def try.

john_gacy
yeaaaaaaaaaaa Yeah, was going to mention this is back around again, had my 1st of the season the other day, delish. Say this each year, but some people swear by the Dogfish which I wasn't feeling, Southern Tier all the way. I'm tempted to say though that, if I recall correctly, the Smashed Pumpkin was good last year too by Shipyard.
sneekatoke
dogfish punkin ale and anchor porter 100%!
MADEMAN49
I just came back from Colorado,I visited the Coors brewery and to tell you the truth the Coors beer taste so damn good there. It was fresh and straight pure.Once it comes to other states (distrubuted) it taste alright. Better in Colorado.
Fist 666
nope. its not even good in colorado. (and of all the breweries in CO to visit you chose that one? sheesh)
eviltrailer77
I have to say if I was forced to pick one of the big 3, it would be the regular yellow label Coors banquet beer (out of the bottle of course). Its the only one that has any clean/crispness to it
count chocula
"forced" you say? hmmm… high life would take it. howbout you other beer snobbzzz??? do tell. in other news liberty ale on lunch i'm buzzed fuck work fuck yeah.
