NoeWhan
The numbers can only be guessed... Maybe there's a mixture of drug use and religious belief... But which one could be summed down to more deaths? Also keep in mind, the people who have died in jail, or by police just because they used a drug. xrebelheartsx
i don't think there's any question that over the years, far more deaths have resulted from religion-based conflicts/persecution than from drugs. obviously i have no solid numbers to back that up, but think of how many wars/massacres/genocides have been as a result of religion. russell jones
If prescription drugs were counted, I would guess that the number of deaths from drug use and religious wars have been pretty close in recent years.
CACashRefund
depends how you count deaths from drugs only overdoses? or do you count wars between governments and militias? police and traffickers? every aspect of the "drug wars?"
angelofdeath
i think a way cooler topic would be to discuss how govt roads kill 40,000 people a year, yet terrorists killed 3000 people in new york one time and there is a global war on tactics. why not a war on govt roads?? vanfullofretards
Who the hell calls them government roads? They're called public roads, and the deaths are the result of things called "accidents". Hope that wasn't serious. Does the state government even own the roads or does the public in general since we pay for them?
LIVERWURST*
I come to Corssfire when I'm on drugs and when I read threads about religion I want to kill people.

Does the state government even own the roads or does the public in general since we pay for them?" so our roads in america are now privatized? 'public,' government, same difference. it is a fancy ploy to make you think that you 'own' them. i call public schools, government schools or youth propaghanda camps, but that is another thread. think about it. if a factory owner, has 40,000 deaths a year in his factory, isnt he responsible for the small dilema they have? so ultimately it is the road managers, the government, who are responsible for these deaths. if roads were not socialized im sure the different road managers might increase or decrease speed limits, and compete for peoples use of roads that are safer. Harpo Marx
As far as I know, there has never been genocide in the name of drugs... So I might venture to say religious beliefs have been the cause of more deaths...
Odes4TheStreets
Hmm... Really puzzling question... I'm sure a lot of bad shit has went down while people were high as fuck, as well as all the drug wars and all that... BUT... I'm leaning towards religion, because those Crusades (Christians Vs. Muslims) and 9/11 (Muslims Vs. Americans) and the Holocaust (Germans Vs. Jews) alone outweighs any number of drug-related deaths
smooth bruce
No, drugs have killed a lot more people. Its estimated that from 2005 to 2020 U.S cigarettes will kill around 50 million people in China alone.

Juan Fuentes
They've also been doing drugs since time began. haha yessss even most of them made up deities because of drugs. sun god, wind god, death goddess...you must be high to believe or come up with that... and if your drug is your religion? or your religion is your drug? religion as in belief system/rituals/laws or the group of people? drug as in narcotics or the addiction to anything that wastes your time? too complex to make a thread about it
Dawood
yeah....by defenition..crackheads worship crack. Gold diggers worship Money, Diesel heads worship Heroin. etc. etc. hence, they are religious about their respective rituals and worship of their God. enigmatic
beleive me, if jesus was alive today, he would be PISSED at how his followers distorted up his beleifs Furthermore. important historical facts... the crusades? many lives lost for no reason at all. and what about religion being used as a political tool, first jesus gets murdered and his beleifs twisted for political gain. now president bush declares god wanted him to be president. then again on the drug side methanphetomine essentially ruins the lives of everyone who chooses to use it. then again if you choose to use meth your probably pretty fucked up anyway... but there is also cocaine, which deffinatley was the cause for a lot of gang related deaths in the 80s.
