Lew Blum
A few years ago I came across a website that basically had a picture and info on every skateboard deck made. It had every board I rode in the 90s with pictures. The site covered every brand I could think of. I searched the net and came across a couple but not as good as the original site I found Any suggestions?? Pretty sure youre talking about Art Of Skateboarding: http://www.artofskateboarding.com/aos_main.asp I found most of the boards ive ever rode on there. CELT
Who used to go to the hardware store ( Pre-Lowes/Home Depot ) when you broke a kingpin back in the day ? I did many a time because the closest skateshop to me was 2 buses away .
twonpoo
damn, we didn thave issues like that , but in my poser days i definiately used a regualr bolt and hacksawed it down to fit, stripping the threads and the head of the bolt was all dug into the board. I did many a time because the closest skateshop to me was 2 buses away . fuck yeah...all the time. esp in the colder months. plus i rock rather tight trucks. but yeah...i remember bringing the broken kingpin with me to find one to match at the hardware spot. I did many a time because the closest skateshop to me was 2 buses away . even worse... remember trying to change a kingpin? i didnt have access to a vice or any shit like that....so i would just use a flathead screwdriver and a hammer, and knock the broken half out. that shit always took a couple hours of commitment from start to finish. Papi Drew It
the parc benches in my city used to be bolted (might still be) by the same kind of bolts they used for independent kingpins...free kingpins all through the city

Tavaruawon
Aha I`ve been lucky enough to somehow only ever broken one kingpin, and it wasnt even me, I let my friend skate my board and the first 50-50 he tried on a curb he broke it. I`ve also somehow been riding the same krux trucks since grade seven, and I graduated high school last year... I think Imma get new trucks this year though lmao. Anyways just hopped onto this thread to say "FUCK YEAH SKATING SEASON HAS STARTED UP AGAIN!" SKATE FASTER AND HARDER. Alls I'm saying is that if you been riding the same setup since grade seven, you can't even be trying. Broken and thrashed equipment is a sign of progression.
