On the road at 7am, arrived in Liège, Eastern Belgium at 9.30-10pm, 2 hours looking after paint stores, nothing...I thought "damn another blank trip..."

I decided to go to the other city, Namur, on my road back, but i had the plan to stop in every minor cities i'd came across...

I stopped in Huy, and quickly found a hardware store called "Quincaillerie du Sud"("South Hardware"), got in, and immediatly spotted the cans, but nothing really old, except those Ultra-Color(80's can, super great paint) i already have, and those Tek(1986)...

I asked about five times the owner to look after some old cans, he said "i don't have anything", and i kept asking. Then he came back from the back of his store with those Krylon boxes! Hoooooooolllyyyy shiiiiiiiiiiit!!! I was in a dream, big time digging, finally. But i wasn't satisfied so he felt he had to look harder, and then he brought me the Borden Krylon(by the way what is this color? Green Bronze?), but without her cap. I said "Man you gotta find this cap dude..." He went back with a big light-torch and came back with it!

On my road back i was so fuckin happy that all the other cities i've visited between 1pm and 5pm, and where i hadn't found shit, it's wasn't so bad, cause i had all those crazy never seen before Krylons!!!

@ JoeW - Yeah that's what I came up with too, that Plastikote produced it.

@ Topgun - Nice man, congratulations

@ Jib - any chance you can post that label design?

@ Harvey - That's awesome. Did you ever come across any others or is that officially the only one you ever saw personally..?

Top Gun, those cans are amazing... top digging marks!

Bronze Green is probably the best way you could translate O.D. Khaki (Olive Drab Khaki), a military color and one of the most interesting Krylon colors. It has so many shades in it.

Those Krylon decorators are fantastic. Have never seen those before... Brussels address, Dutch and French only, it's like they made these only for Flanders?? Benelux?? Amazing!!

O.D. Khaki? So it's super-rare! Cool!

Yeah those cans were exclusively for France, Belgium and Switzerland(where Domit still sells Krylon nowadays...)

Krylon had a lot of difficulties to break on the other markets, in Germany it was due to the competition with Auto-K and Peter Kwasny(Mr. Dewavrin, the french SEDPA boss told me great stories about what happened during the 68 DIY Show in Germany. Peter Kwasny called the firemen saying the Krylon stand was on fire or something vicious like that, just when the stands were crowdy as fuck! Bad publicity...

The store-owner where i found the Krylon told me he was in the store since 1974 as an employee, and 1978 on his own. He told me the cans were here like way before he was hired, and that it was the old boss' own cans, who was a car-fanatic, and that he used to make little jobs on his favorite models...Like the Presto spray for the Opel Camaro!

Krylon Glanzbronzegruen/ Glanzend Bronsgroen we should also note is Glossy (glanz means shiny, lustrous, brilliant, etc.)....

O.D. Khaki was its own catalog category, the 2300s. It was that interesting of a color that it didn't fit in with the metallics, the greens, nor the browns. And the more common is 2301, which is glossy. But there was also a much shorter-run flat O.D. Khaki, discontinued in the 60s or 70s. Anyone got one?

I got em both, at least I know I have the Crazy Kings but I doubt I'd trade em. I still have all my 90's mags, a bunch of can control's in the pile.
