Willie Nelson
Well thanks for the schooling on scrapple I was confused with palenta because i'm drunk but fried chicken feet and hot sauce are good. Also try pickled pig lips a delicaseie around these parts on the 1st and 15th along with King Cobra quarts for those that don't know thats the day food stamps come in the mail. blood fart
I always thought that if you were going to eat weird shit, you might as well go all out. Kitten pizza, extra ears. Tiger burrito. Chicken fried eagle steak. Things like that. If you're going to start delving into the strange foods world, best to test the waters with basics such as raccoon, squirrel, squab, alligator, snake, not to mention all the parts of normal animals that you can eat like ears, eyes, lips, feet, buttholes, hearts, brains, and grody stuff like that.

Considering that if it is at a major chain store such as that, that means that it is easily accessible to the masses. Although, most people stick to what they are comfortable with and don't really take risks. Myself included. But then again, from talking to a lot of the military folk around here...I have a wider range of foods that I consider normal to eat on a regular basis. Oh yeah, I left out bison, kangaroo, and eel. Oh yeah, I left out bison, kangaroo, and eel. haha yeah just because it's so overpriced most people can't afford it doesn't mean it's weird And people clearly do stick to what's comfortable - I'm not going to act like I would ever eat stuff like pork chitterlings or hog knuckles, but I do see them at the grocery store But then again I think my food tastes are about as diverse as they need to be I'm lucky enough to live right between 2 grocery districts, so to the north I have the ghetto krogers and save-a-lot, and to the south I have the rich krogers, teeter, and the only publix in town (which seems to be trying to corner the Jewish food market) And without a doubt, it's the really cheap regional stuff found in the hood stores that is far more weird than anything at whole foods (except placenta juice, 50 says they sell that at whole food, but i dont think she tried that yets) Also neckbones are good, like really good
blood fart
The neighborhood my family lives in back in Austin is super diverse as far as different countries that are represented through the areas population. Within a few miles of the house are a super ghetto HEB, a really fancy HEB, a few Mexican meat markets, a few halal markets, a huge Asian shopping center, and an African market. I've shopped at all the various markets and my favorite ones are the halal markets and the Asian markets. The halal markets also have huge vegetarian sections due to the large number of vegetarians in the Indian community, so I always find new things to try out. I had some folks over for dinner a few months ago and none of them had ever had a Vietnamese noodle bowl before and didn't know how to eat one as far as what sauces to put on it or whether you are supposed to cut the noodles or whatever. It was so strange to me because I am used to going to get a noodle bowl for a cheap lunch option on a regular basis. One of the people over had no idea as to what tofu was and I had to explain it. These were all people in their mid-to-late 20's, but were just not the type of people to go out and try new things. I think that people like that are probably pretty common and that the average American would rather go to a McDonald's for lunch versus going somewhere and trying something that could be either very delicious or very disgusting. YouMad.GIF
"uhhhh, what is a 'pho'"? 6$ bowl specials are the bomb There's actually a shitload of Vietnamese people here too, for some reason this city is a really popular place the government sends political refugees, so we have a lot of vietnamese, Laotian, Russian/eastern European, and especially Kurdish people Actually we have the largest Kurdish population in the world, except the kurd regions of the middle east It makes for some pretty great and cheap places to eat But yeah, Vietnamese food is the best shit ever, and luckily I live around the corner from where a lot of them set up shop Shout outs to Kien Gang (a resteraunt, not a gang)
