Everytime I Die:

Alright, Lyrically I enjoy them. Their singer is an English major so yeah, his lyrics are above the whole 10th grade girl writting about decaying and shit. Burial Plot Bidding War's lyrics are decent and are borderline cliche but with Last Night in Town I think he definately came into his own and dropped some "mad crazy" lines that were probably more clever than anything in hardcore, metal, whatever (save anal cunt and agoraphobic nosebleed -- see "Drive by blow job on a bicycle" and entire anal cunt discography) As for Hot Damn he seems to b cattering to the whole 10th grade market and being a little more cliche but still sticking to his guns on not being mentally retarded. As for hot damn! musically the rock n roll/metal thing isn't working for me and I was much happier with the bland mushy chugas of burial plot bidding war and the mild rockness of last night in town. Everytime I Die get a Thumbs in the middle in my book.

Norma Jean:

Not to big on them. I've listen to bless the martyr touch your child a couple times and it was nothing ground breaking like mentioned before. It wasn't anything horrible either. The only way to describe Norma Jean is to say dumb lyrics(like bringing a knife to a gun fight? Shut the fuck up.) and too damn hype. They honestly are over rated but they don't hurt my ears when I listen to them. They aren't my cup of tea so I'll give them a thumbs in the middle just to be fair.

The Chariot( http://www.thechariot.com )

Old singer from Norma Jean's new band. I believe he was in the band when they were called Luti-Kris. This band once again is nothing ground breaking or new and they are all about the jesus dick but I imagine I could see a buncha elitest pricks(like myself and most people on this board) liking them strictly because they have too many scene points to admit to liking Norma Jean.

Underoath:

The only thing I have to say about them is that they were kinda sweet way back in the beginning when they had death metal organs other than that they have "hardcore is the new nu metal" written all of them.

Unearth:

ahhh good musically fucking terrible lyrically. My heart bleeds no longer, the cd that song is on was pretty decent. Their new cd had some really decent songs if I completely neglect that guys terrible fucking lyrics.

But seeks, you did ask at one point what bands were better:

Anal Cunt.

edit::I go to art school, I don't have to know how to spell.

awhile ago i made a hate thread against norma jean faggots and the whole "metalcore" what ever the fuck you want to call it.

so yeah.

for anyone that plays an instrument, being it guitar, drums, whatever, i think us musicians (ive been playing guitar for 7 years, bass a few less) tend to have a broader range of musical likes. people who dont play guitar or whatever seem to just throw bands in their "shit category," if it sounds a little like the band that came out before them.

ETID:

Ive loved them ever since they came out with the 5? song demo. "last night in town" was lyrically, musically in every instrument/vocals just completely awesome. i think my 12oz signature is from "the logic of crocodiles," but i dont know i might have changed it. One thing i hate about it now is...there are so many bands ripping them off. but just know that etid did it first. one more thing. the kids. the first time i saw ETID in 2001? it was like any other show. i just saw them last time in february and i knew i was in for a challenge. yep. everyone had tight pants, sauconys, mesh hats, all that shit. "hot damn" was a little more repetative and not as "crazy" if you will compared to lnit.

i think it was right around 2000 when the whole "trend" thing started to come into play....every kid looking the same at a show.

im going to have to disagree with the norma jean part. yes, they do have a in-your-face breakdown horror chord thing going on which is one thing i MIGHT actaully like about them cause theyre focused on that one thing....which is good i guess. but then again, the kids. i dont have to explain that part again. and also them as a band and their music, i just dont care for it. and its not cause every 15 year old wants to be them, i just dont care for it much,

BOO-YAH. i like etid. im seeing them in october.

Motherfucker if anyone starts hating on Refused then I'll have to start throwing E-punches.....

I like Everytime I Die. It's total frat house party music. But I listen to Suicidal Tendencies so my opinion won't really count....

Darkest Hour are also deck-ass.....

in the end, it doesnt really matter because hopesfall, clutch and jay z are better than all these people.

oh, lil wayne too.

really though, people are too opinionated about irrelivent shit. the difference between a 'good' metal band and a 'bad' metal band is so tiny and so subjective, that it doesnt really matter. breakdowns on one album can be the shit, and the same break down on another album can be shit. as long as someones voice doesnt annnoy me and the album chugs, i'm bout it.

thanks mispanta, i was waiting for your input.

Never got into clutch so I won't say anything.

Hopesfall broke my heart. I remember a good 3 years ago or so when they started putting out ungodly amounts of EPs and shit and were all about "J. Diamond" they were amazing. This was all pre-Trustkill keep in mind. I would probably listen to Hopesfall everyday to me they were the only "Melodic Hardcore" band that has ever will ever matter anyone else wanna step to No Wings to Speak Of on the melodic note? Step the fuck down before hopesfall makes you swollow your own teeth. Hands down A-Number One. What happens once they start getting a little big? Theor singer leaves for whatever reason, probably because he looked like me when I was fat, Alright it's cool, plenty of bands replace singers and are still good. Nothing to get worked up over, sure it'll be different but I know they can find a nice boy from their church group to fill in. No Problem. Holy shit like a month later you kick out your lead guitarist!?!? What the fuck are you thinking!? Did you forget to ask J. Diamond for guidance on this one? I think you did because honestly I think jesus would have been like, "Look, Not having your original singer and your original guitarist makes you a completely different band. You wanna continue, Get a new name, start over again. Kill this hopesfall stuff because what was once golden is now dead." Nope, they completely neglected jesus on this.

I'm a little hung over/drunk from last night and am kinda ranting but shit this put me in a bad mood. I fucking loved hopesfall pre-trustkill now they just define "Shitty christians trying to preach through breakdowns"

As for HOVA, shit yeah I don't even have to say anything about this. All of you know Jay-Z is amazing. Don't even try to argue I will E-POWERBOMB YOU!

Um Lil Wayne? That song Shine is the shit. Once again try and tell me Shine isn't a good song and I will E-PILE DRIVE YOU!

//M DOT PANTALONES YOU MUST TRY HARDER COMPETITION IS . . .

last time hopesfall came through town, their guitar player was trying to get everyone to watch this dog-on-girl porn that he had. i don't know how christianly that is. they were also drinking. hmmmm.

i never got a chance to see them prior to the new line up, but i do know that the new line up is still good. it's not the same, but it's good. 'escape pod...' is a dope album, you just can't look at it to be like the other two. more melodic...more 'polished'... it's good. i'll listen to it now.

only thing that bugged me, is the singer just kept doing the cheesiest shit. swining the mic cord, catching it on cue, etc. i mean, i guess when you're just a singer and youve got a big break down to deal with, you need something to occupy your time with...not everyone can just run into the crowd like bear vs. shark.

what EP's did they put out other than 'no wings...'? that's the only one i've ever heard of.

mispanta, you heard the MOP rock record yet? shit is fire.

I saw Norma Jean last summer right after they got that new singer. I don't know if that was it, but they sounded terrible. Sound was all muddy, couldn't hear any vocals, everything kind of blended together. Underoath played, too, and they aren't that bad live. This was before I found out they are Christian metal.

seeking, does d4 still tour? Are they even still together?
