rubbish heap two
Good luck. Just got done watching the state champs at the track. The flying 200m record got broken tonight by a young friend who will likely be going pro in match sprinting very soon. Watch out for a certain Kevin coming up...... count chocula
Oooooph... that hurt - well, as if I didn't already know: 6 weeks of slacking/nursing = zero race legs. Hopefully I can get my ass in gear for next weeks crit. On the plus side - I feel very motivated.
Soup
Slowly getting back into cycling. Rode a hundred miles this week. Just sitting on the mtb in the biggest gear. No water. No supplements. Nothing yet. Heres some photos I took of my friends in the recent Carrera de san rafael. Sporting rock racing is Johnson, the other three are Rosenthol, English, and Fisher. I cant keep up with what teams they're on anymore. lol. Who doesnt love a few waterbras?

count chocula
the women's p/1/2 race was awesome. that chic (kat) went otf for about 25 laps - solo'd in for the win… amazing.
fat ralphy
After 2 weeks on the single speed...riding my road bike was weird, felt super heavy. Just replaced my truvativ crank/bb with a sram set up.
Joker
Raced the SS MTB again last night. At the start I was at the back of the field so when the guy so "GO!" I was already in bad position. Then luck struck... a guy went down in the gravel (yeah, ouch is right) and caused a pile up which gave me the opportunity to come around a lot of people. Next thing I know I'm in the top fifteen of the field. Stoked. I get to the first hairpin turn, grab a handful of rear brake to powerslide through it, and the rear wheel slips. Oofah!! I get off and tinker with it to get it fixed. Takes me a while and once I do I notice that there's no one in front of me and no one behind me... and they've already let the women's field go and the men's 40+ field go. I get going and try hard as shit to catch up to someone. I eventually reintegrate back into the mayhem of the men's 40+ field and work my way through them and get into the women's field. Then the rear wheel slips again through a turn. I fix it with the quickness and tell myself to not touch the rear brake for the rest of the race. I eventually work my way to the front of the women's field which is mixed in with the rear of the SS field. This is with one lap to go so I decide to stay there, watch the top five women battle it out and try to stay out of their way. Overall a fun race. Getting more used to the bike and liking it... just have to get the rear wheel slipping thing figured out. I had worked on it last week and thought I got it fixed but I did not. Oh well. Still had fun.
count chocula
today's stage makes me feel much better about the shelling i rec'd last weekend. haha.
Decyferon
that stage today was brilliant, Andy Schleck rode such a good race, but fair play to Contador he stayed with him the whole time. Schleck is going to have to drop Contador at some point otherwise he will lose it in the time trial
KM4RT
I don't think Contador can be dropped. But those two are in a league of their own. Can't believe they bridged the gap to the leading group. Insane. Anyone got one of those whiz bang Garmins....thoughts? I'm considering the 500 edge.
Fist 666
joker, have you thought about dropping a link or two in the chain to move the hub closer in on the dropouts? might help limit that.

Once i get a mtb, i am going to get a storage shed and a couple good locks for outside.

acer910
im still living with my family, ive got one on the front porch and on in my room. and theres no room for the third. it might have to live in the trunk of my car..
Joker
I have a couple of these to keep a few bikes off the ground while others rest on the ground underneath them. When I take my bikes out of storage these just fold right up and out of the way... which is nice when I need to dome some canvases. http://www.bikerackshops.com/PSB-1R.html

fat ralphy
any advice on taking care of knees over the long term. i never noticed the impact until I started to ride fixed over the last month.
rubbish heap two
Lower your gearing, examine your bike fit (saddle height, fore/aft) and if possible, get a brake. Those all help alleviate knee pain on the fixed gear.
fat ralphy
yeah i figured.... 46-17 and I have a front brake... other than that I figure just take things easy and don"t go too insane
