If it's a new camera, I'd call them about those dead pixels immediately and see about getting it replaced, or take it back to the store and raise a fit. I've owned some Nikons in that line older than that one and never had that problem, I think it developed one hot pixel after a year of use but nothing to that extent.

Here are some from the past couple of weeks...

Yeah, he kind of looks like a giraffe munching on some ganja leaves in that pic, just one from a series I took last week. That was our family dog for 13 years, had to put him to sleep on monday though. R.I.P. Caper 1992-2005.

8, I like some of your shots. The foot-level one is pretty cool.

DSCN00182.jpg

just bought a digital, Nikon 5700. does anyone know what the deal is with the dead/hot pixels? could that just be because of dust?

if you use the noise reduction or clear image mode on long

exposures it helps get rid of those.. its a characteristic

of digital cameras and long exposures... i have the same

camera and i have mine set up, and dont have that problem..

holler at me if you want... i think rage has that camera also

maybe the 8700

Yea, I have the 8700.

rage mine did that too,,,, did yours break? or did the flash just stop working... it sucks... mine just stopped working.. i called nikon and they told me i could send it in on my own dime and if it wasnt covered under warrenty (which it sounded like it wasnt) they would fix it... and i could pay for it... and the time it would take was like 6 to 8 weeks... wackness... the guy i talked to said its a characteristic of the cool pics...

Same fucking thing man.

I'm pissed. I read the PDF file on returns on the Nikon site..

I noticed you have to send it out on your own, wait forever, etc...

I sent out an SX-70 Polaroid Special Edition to a place in Texas, they sent it to a place in Mass. who estimated the repair at $139. I paid $20 for the camera, so I told them to keep the damn thing.

I'm not doing that shit again with this Nikon.

Hell, I can just attatch a cheap flash unit to the hot-socket.

As long as the Auto Focus (orange light) still works, I'm all set.

Wow!!!!!!!!

Ok, I find that amazing!

That box has been all around the world for almost a year.

I really thought one of you would get a new box, but no.

Damn, that's cool.

Awesome ese, hope everything still works ok.

Don't forget, if there are more than two shots left, just use them all...

When you're almost done, get at me:
