Quoted post Joker, there is a case available for that camera so u can use it on a tripod. Pretty sure its the official Sony case, worth checking if you could really use it. MrChupacabra
That closeup on the green flower/plant is fucking awesome. Is that digital? And was it altered at all? if the answer to the second one is no, even better. Cipher, i am interested in that holga.

Minor adjustments in PS. I don't recall exactly, but I probably boosted the saturation a bit. Took the photo several years ago with my Nikon 8008 SLR. Nikkor 28-70 zoom lens. geist
Ckit - try taking out the date/timestamp in those pictures - feel it's taking away from the picture and making it another "tourist" type shot rather than an art shot. Phunk and Fr8 - killer stuff Originally posted by GnomeToys@Jan 7 2005, 06:39 PM After our fantastic ice storm Quoted post Reminds me of pictures I shot yesterday which I was actually on my way here to post myself. Rained here in Philly yesterday and took these in my backyard. Here's 5 that turned out the best out of them. Feedback appriciated as I'm still VERY new to the photography thing. ^this is actually the last leaf left on that entire tree - thought it was something special so took it. :) All using my Sony DSC-F717. Enjoy and once again, feedback is always appriciated.

I'll keep this for photography and whatnot and use the other for my street shit. It was for my devart gallery so I felt I wanted the recognition there. Phunk - thanks man :) They really turned out better than I had hoped. I kept seeing more and more things to shoot so I had fun - albiet cold fun, but fun none-the-less. And like I said, I'm still VERY new to the photography thing so all help and criticism is appriciated.

Quoted post colt, thanks. i use the Canon Digital Rebel, a 6.3 mp SLR. you can find them now for about $800 retail, maybe a little less. it uses interchangeable lenses, so expenses can mount as you buy lenses for it. a camera like the Sony that geist uses has only one (very good) lens, which is less flexible, but less expensive too. colt45oe800
Yeah i did some research today at work between DIGITAL SLRS and cameras like the Sony it looks like the Sony is in my price range and has some really good manual features to complement the lense. I've been strictly focusing my research on NIKON, CANON, and SONY cameras. From what i hear those three have the best digis I trust the opinions of Actual photographers like everyone in this thread more than i trust a 9 out of 10 on cnet and apreeciate your opinion immensely phunk. I looked at a Canon S1 IS in Best Buy the zoom was good but the megapixel was crap, and i wasn't sure about the lense. The SONY DSC-F717 is looking pretty attractive especially with those shots geist took. GEIST were those taken using the manual focus on the camera? and how easy or hard is it to use the manual focus? THANKS

THANKS Quoted post I'd just like to chime in that the Sony-F717 is an awesome camera. I owned a Sony F707 before the Sigma DSLR I currently have and it was fucking wonderful. Manual focusing is not as accurate as you might hope, but then AF almost never misses, somehow.
