War in Afghanistan has been a positive thing for weapons sales, certain military contractors, the war lords that have taken taleban's place etc,
it has also been theoretically a good thing for US/coalition influence in the region (the way it affects Pakistan, India, China etc.) and it has
provided valuable experience for the militaries involved.
They don't go to these wars out of stupidity.
However "terrorist" is mostly just another signal word like "commie" was during the cold war. Since 9/11 they started to use it as a chime to condition people to automatically associate it with screaming muslims. It's not exactly a conspiracy because it catches on in any conformist/populist news source as an effective way to get people alerted/pay attention/buy stuff. You can't expect population support any war if you inform them about the complex shit between afghan regional tribes with different languages, or how Pakistan/ISI is linked with taleban or anything that makes the war sound more difficult than "BOMB AND WIN".
Media aspect of this war shit is all pavlovs dog stuff. Reality is complex matters for grown ups.
