Could have been some homeless person they were harassing. Even if they did leave this knife in their carry on, why would that not worth being defended? I mean, I can see value in following rules, don't get me wrong. I just can't see how someone catching charges, and losing that knife actually benefits anyone, even people like yourself that value enforcing these rules at all costs.
