zack almost got lost in the confusion.

 

although it will suck for those who have to send it overseas, theres no way of regulating who does it, so lets just have one person send it overseas, then put everyone else who is overseas right after them. then the last one who is overseas will send it back to the states....?

There are roughly 80 pages in a blackbook, so we could either stop the list at 40 and have each person get 2 pages. or let the list go to 80(possible?) and have one page per person. or send out two books<<good idea i think. If we send out two boks we could have one for each coast. whadya think?

this is looking really great! but do you think limiting some one to 1 page might kinda limit creativity, b/c what is some interestin heads are

hanging out and wanna add content? just a thought . . .

how about the idea of everyone getting the front and back of one page. that way, if your markers bleed through the paper, you don't mess up anyone else's page...and if it doesn't bleed through, you can put something on both sides.

 

just an idea. i also like keeping the cover black...or just a simple title stamped into the cover.

Thats why you put a blank sheet of paper behind

the page youre drawing on. ;)

 

It also doubles ass a color tester, or smudge protector.

We will get into that in tomorrows session.

Also…I like the idea of keeping it plain black.

Alrite checkit, we're going to start this on January 1st, 2002.

 

I would LOVE to purchase a sketchbook on that day, but doubt anywhere would be open.. but if I can do that, that would be great.. i'd stick the receipt in there and everything.. you know just as a momentum. So it's on, one large sketchbook, 200 pages right? I like that concept of leaving the outside black...

And.. I do agree that this book should be dedicated to Raven.. that would be awsome.

 

So the plan is i'll get the book, preferabbly on Jan 1st of 2002, and that will also be the starting day which i'll write in it. Then i'll get it out to alkaline, as soon as Jan. 2nd or the 3rd... and he'll pass it on when he's done (which I hope wont take very long)

 

I'd like everyone to remember that this book is not just a sketch book, but also a journal, so making it intresting and diverse rather than graff related would be awsome, right? I mean this book is going to have a part of everyone in it.. and I know theres more to everyones lives than 5 pages of roll calls. Collages, random pictures of things you like, YOUR THOUGHTS ON LIFE, what happened on a certain day, YOUR POETRY!, anything and everything would make this thing awsome.

 

Also, I think we should not SKIP ANY PAGES. no skipping around, no jumpin to the end or the middle of the book. If it's okay, could we all please keep it in order.. and it would be nice to date your entries, and also put your choosen name, along with the order of number your in.

Oh, and your location would look really dope too, so we have a vast idea of where this book has traveled to.

 

Like somewhere in there.. i'd do something like:

 

Jan. 1st, 2001

....1. DEE38 // Central Maui, Hawaii.

 

You feel me? I mean orginization isn't everything but it would be nice to know who went when, and all that crap.

 

As for the amount of space given to use in the book, If not one page, then I think 2 pages.. like one whole section when you open up a book, that entire flat section containing 2 pages would be nice. And please be considerate with the bleeding pages and everything. I also do like the idea of KAST's when he says one full front and back page. If thats enough for everyone that would be nice.. remember this is going to be the bigger sized sketched book.

 

NO RIPPING OUT PAGES! Don't you hate it when people do that to your book? I would hate to see it happening to ours.

 

Thats about it I can think about right now. I think there should be a holding limit within the book, which you all can figure out amongts yourselves.. I've seen 3-5 days suggested, and that would be cool.

 

I hope this comes out succesful, it truely has been one of the best ideas brought apon the boards, and I do agree with seeking when he says that we should treat this book as a journal and not a product. And the end, we should ALL figure out what to come of it. I'm thinking this will take a while, but it's surely worth it.

 

Also, anyone with scanners, digital cameras, webcams.... please feel free to take updated pictures on the book for us to gawk at, and awe about while this book does it's traveling. I'm going to be the first one to get in it, so i'd like to see some photos of it too, :) if it's not a biggie. And we should keep an updated post about the status of the book while it's circling around, just so we know who has it, who goes next.. and how's this book turning out.

 

I'm really excited on starting, and hope you all are too... please lets not fuck it up :)

Quick question / statement...

 

What's to stop someone who's on this list from giving the book to their friends to use a page two? We need to make sure ONLY the person who is designated "holder" of the book uses it.

 

Also scanning the book wouldn't be good for the spine of it. Just taking digital or print photos are good enough.

Thanks, DEE. On the first, I'll go ahead and post an "official 12oz Journal" thread, where we can track the book's progress and location. Since this will be the large book (You're talking about the 11" x 14" right, DEE?), one page (front and back) should be plenty for everybody. If that's a problem for anybody, please speak up now. Also, we should come up with "the official rules" real soon. I can make a nice professional quality sticker for the inside cover with all the rules on them so that there is no confusion (if you want me to).

I hope this works out. it sounds like such a good idea. I think even though you shouldnt fuck with the list, organizing it regionally would cut down on travel time. I live with someone else on this message board so that would kill 2 birds with one....

Alkaline, yes 11x14.. and the sticker idea sounds good also. It would be even great if everyone knew the rules some how mariculously (sp) by heart, but I know some will forget, so the sticker ordeal does sound good.

 

Also, one page is good, that gives everyone 11x14 writing/drawing/collage space, times two.. considering that back and front.

No skippin around, no bullshit bleeding to cry over.. and it's all good.
